    HP castile?

I'm going to have to disagree with Judy (which I never do), HP Castile doesn't need 6 months, just my opinion. It does need longer than a couple of weeks though, I would say a month. My HP Castile is hard and mild in 3 weeks. CP- 6 months or a year. HP is a different beast.

    Beautiful packaging, uncertain quality

Lard and soybean gave me DOS years ago. I would never use them now, just not a fan. I don't know why people would put soy in soap or canola. They make me think of French Fries or something. Lard I get why people like it, I just don't like it. You have to base your business on what you...

    Allergy to coconut oil

I have to agree with this. But the problem is- in the last year- everyone is selling soap without learning that much about it. It gives soap makers who have honed the craft over years a bad name in some respects. In other respects, I get customers who say all the time - they cheated on me and...

    Allergic to coconut

All this and to me PKO is milder on the skin and you use less than Coconut Oil- at least I do in my recipe when I use it for a Coconut allergy customer.

    It's not soap but...

Ummm I want one! LOL Nice job! Wooden molds don't have to be pretty they just have to be the size you want. I have tons of them but there is only one I absolutely love and the mold maker isn't making them any more. :-( The cutter is great as well! My husband is not crafty and neither am I so I...

The Soap Loaf Trademark Drama is OVER!

Good to know- Ebay pulled some of my listings because of her and reinstated but it was the whole principle of the thing. My attorney couldn't believe she even got a trade mark with that. HSMG rules!

    Substitute for palm oil?

No offense but gross...Lard gave me DOS in every batch I tried it with. You don't need Palm or Lard to make a good batch of soap, just work on your recipe and do your research on what certain oils bring to the table.

    palm-free recipes?

Without palm- you need a discount. Try a 30% lye concentration- it's only a little discount and mostly everything soaps fine.I would bump up Olive Oil on anything palm free also Cocoa Butters are great. Rice Bran is nice for adding some hardness somehow. I noticed my recipe with Rice Bran- the...

What is the best type of colorant for making a pink cold process soap?

Rose Clay is my number one but don't use too much or it's a weird mauve. But my number 2 is the Neon pink colorant from TKB.

    goat milk ?

It could be what they call lye lint as well. I've had that happen a couple of times. I strained it out and all was well with the world. Someone told me I got it from washing my lye pitchers with dish soap. Not sure if that was it but as soon as I started using vinegar instead of dish soap, it...

Best all natural glycerin soap base

Essentials by Catalina lotions are nice too- just sayin'.:D I don't use their soap but many do. I have customers like your daughter- some people just do not like the way CP/HP makes their skin feel. Maybe they are conditioned to cleansers- I don't know. I like making MP soap so I go with...

    Ok now I'm mad...lol

I never thought of that. I got Glycerine from Soapers Choice, they are usually pretty reliable but anything's possible at this point.

    Wow- that's lovely! Nice job!

Buttermilk Honey soap. Will it get too hot?

Your fine on your honey amounts- I wouldn't bump it up with the milk. I had a Buttermilk soap (without honey) crack on me so I would put it in the freezer as well like Goat Milk Soap. Everything looks good as is.

    Ok now I'm mad...lol

LOL- that's the story of my life. I'm usually the one with the brain fart and apparently Glycerin and KOH challenged. I ordered new KOH so I"m ready when I get it tomorrow for round 4 of this liquid soap try!
