    Can I gel beer soap?

Thebarof, do you use slab molds or loaf molds? I attempted to gel my recent beer soap in a slab mold and resulted in a partial gel. Just wondering if I could try a loaf wooden molf, or would this result in the volcano?

    Can I gel beer soap?

Thanks everyone! I have made several batches with beer and I always boil it down. Just made a beach bum soap with corona light! I recently came across a new local brewery and managed to snag a growler of their winter stout. Made the batch today. Figured it would be good soap for the stocking...

    Can I gel beer soap?

I have noticed my acyrilic slab mold does better (less sticking) when I gel but I always put beer soap in the fridge to keep it cooler and prevent gel. Can I gel beer soap or will it get too hot?

    coating silicone mold?

This batch was CPOP so I forced gel but I did unmold it after 24hours. I will wait 48hrs this time around and see how it goes :)

    coating silicone mold?

I just used my new CC silicone loaf mold and it worked ok, but the soap slightly stuck to the sides and we had a hard time getting it out. Does anyone use a unsaponifiable lubricant such as mineral oil or cyclomethicone to coat the mold? What is the best way to get soap out of the mold?

    Breast Milk Soap

I just saw this thread was revived and I would love to weigh in. I am currently a nursing mom of a 9month old and I began making soap when I was looking for a way to use my milk that was not fit for baby to drink. I love my breast milk soap and it has healed many a rash and sunburn to date...

    acyrlic slab mold sticking

I emailed him today and will try to call tomorrow. I just loathe lining molds, but I will do it if needed :-)

    acyrlic slab mold sticking

No, this is acrylic. I like it cause it has a divider to make individual bars. As I said, it started out awesome.... ugh

    acyrlic slab mold sticking

I have the acyrlic slab mold from soap making resource and originally LOVED it. Now after doing many batches, every batch sticks horribly. I have tried putting it in the freezer for 10mins before unmolding, as well as the oven for 10mins at 170F with no luck. I have tried unmolding earlier as...

    witch hazel in CPOP soap

She wants to use it as a wipe solution (soaking the wipes to use on the bum). I hadn't thought of lanolin. I have some around here that is collecting dust since I no longer need it.... Maybe I will try that. I also thought about a bit of sea clay. I tried to find alcohol free witch hazel...

    bebe collections soap mold

Thanks everyone for the comments. I think at this time, I am just gonna buy two silicone molds (8in) from WSP and call it a day. :)

    bebe collections soap mold

Yea. I was looking at the brambleberry one previously.... bebe collection also has a wooden mold with a drop in silicone liner you might want to look at.

    witch hazel in CPOP soap

Where would I find alcohol free witch hazel? This is a pretty seasoned mom and I think she has been using another soap/witch hazel concoction so to each their own. I use plan water with a touch of coconut oil and tea tree oil for my guy's bum :)

    witch hazel in CPOP soap

Would this be feasible? A friend of mine requested a batch with tea tree oil in it to make diaper wipe cleaner. She also mentioned witch hazel would be nice. I was thinking I could do a half water lye solution, then add the witch hazel at trace. Thoughts?

    bebe collections soap mold

I guess also, most my loaf batches I make now are CPOP so if given the chance, would you buy a wooden mold with a silicone liner, or just go straight to the silicone liner since you are ensuring gel with the oven anyway?

    bebe collections soap mold

I am looking at buying a couple new loaf molds (preferably without having to line them). I really want to try their silicone loaf mold but am wary since the price is so awesome. Anyone have experience with these molds? My main concern is bowing of the mold after pouring and are these molds...

    slow moving recipe

I used full fat water and a recipe of 30 oo, 30 co, 30 po, 10co. Mixed around 90F and it sped up so quickly ai ended up with a gloppy mess. I just want a good slowing moving recipe to get the hang of fun swirls (like the peacock swirl). Using a cheaper fat is a plus seeing as it might be a...

    slow moving recipe

What makes a recipe slow moving? I would love to try some swirling techniques but my recipes all move too quickly. Any slow moving recipe using crisco or lard since they are cheap?

Is there anything I can do to reduce the likelihood of this happening again?
