    Is expensive butter worth it?

With that much castor it will be sticky. I'd still keep the superfat at 7-8% though since you'll have that much coconut & palm in there.

you know your addicted to making soap when.....

When you're making cookies, but your 1 yr old thinks you're making soap so she starts taking your oils & mixing bowls out of the soaping cabinet for you.

you know your addicted to making soap when.....

I'll send you some of our snow/ice we've been getting here for the last couple days. We're supposed to get more tomorrow. Hmm...what's the best way to package snow :problem:

    Is expensive butter worth it?

20% castor oil during soap use feels sticky & draggy to me. But what are the other oils? If your other oils are mainly coconut & you're making a salt soap, then 20% castor won't be too bad. Also, SF doesn't really have anything to do with rancidity if you're worried about that.

    Expired ingredients

Is that the "sell by" date on the container? If so, isn't the food usually good 2 weeks after the sell by date as long as stored properly?

    Four New Soaps!

Very lovely :) I like the look of Oil Slick the most :) As far as the dragging of one part into another, like in your beer soap, cutting the soap on it's side will prevent that.

    lye fumes when curing soap?

While soap is curing, there shouldn't be any active lye in your soap. But if anyone in your home is sensitive to scents, the fragrance oils and/or essential oils could be irritating.

    Sweet orange and cedarwood ratios??

I'd start with 3 parts sweet orange to 1 part cedarwood. A simple formula I learned when I first started working with eo's is: 3 parts top note 2 parts middle note 1 part base note

    WSP aggravation

Bulk Apothecary does, but they are well known for problems. Also, all the Crafter's Choice distributors that I know of drop ship most of the products because it's less risky & less expensive to do it that way. But I do know that Caron from Bubbles Bath Boutique has opened a supplier store...

    Is expensive butter worth it?

I'm not a silk fan, but I love me some avocado oil. I use it in almost all my soap recipes & my lip balm :)

New Creation:Bacon Soap (cut pics added)

I'm a chocoholic as well & have never actually eaten chocolate covered bacon. Some day I'll be brave enough. But the chocolate covered bacon wax smells delicious. It's a smokey, hickory scent mingled with sweet chocolate.

    Pumice Soap for coal miners

The recipe looks good, but since the soap is supposed to help get grease off hands, I'd double your pumice.

    Pink Sugar Failure

Hmmm..I never had any fading issues with NGC's & Scent Works' Pink Sugar I use it in CP at 5%, which is less than what you used. The scent stuck in both of them. I've never HP'd that fo though.
