    Why do oxides smell?

yes, 3/4 tsp ppo (not ounces lol).. I have a lot of different oxide colours and I do have some neons but yes, they always come out losing their neon quality. In lotions they maintain their neon-ness. After unboxing my latest batch it does lose it's smell over time - even after days. I just...

How much do you spend on packaging/labels?

I just ordered some of those to try. I got the GWS all weather labels. I can't wait to see how they turn out. edit: I've been meaning to try these guys but I think they're expensive. Nice products though. https://www.mpilabels.com

How much do you spend on packaging/labels?

yeah, boxes don't seem to "stick" in my brain as an option and I really like that idea. Boxes look nice and like you say, recycle easily which is ever-more important these days.

How much do you spend on packaging/labels?

You can get perforated soap wraps from here. Their costs are reasonable and you don't have to cut anything. Does the laminating process make the card stock really firm? Is this for soaps or bottles? (I'm wondering if it would work on bottles)

How much do you spend on packaging/labels?

Generally when you’re selling the product you want to balance between keeping costs down and achieving a look that works with your branding. There’s lots of good ideas here. I have tried most everything that people have mentioned and I’m heading towards more professional options because I’ll be...

How do you know / Who do you trust?

I tend to stick to the usual sources: Saffire Blue is a big one for me (but they had flood damage and have had trouble recovering) - canwax, making cosmetics, new directions, lotion crafter. I’m in Canada and the conversion rate is painful right now so I’m trying to stay local where I can

    Why do oxides smell?

I double checked - Saffire Blue seems to report that some oxides are made from sulfer (organic) and that might explain the smell. Others are made from inorganic things. Nowhere do I find a shelf life recommendation for preservative. I ordered some mica samplers from amazon and will try those...

    Why do oxides smell?

i like oxides and I like strong colours sometimes. I find that oxides have a smell. Has anyone else found this? I’d love to find a way of getting bright neons (I use oxides) that don’t have this off putting smell. These are synthetic products right? ( they don’t get rancid or grow bacteria...

What does lye heavy soap feel like

I make lye heavy soap sometimes - it's IrishLass says, it's drying and it also feels "bitey" on your skin. I don't use it lots but sometimes I like it.

Do oxides affect traces/setting of CP

I was wondering about that too. I don't normally use sunflower in soaps but I have lots of it at the moment and it's really cheap. I thought it would be suitable to experiment with. It's not hard enough to remove from the mold - maybe I'll let it sit for a a while like you did and see what...

Do oxides affect traces/setting of CP

I recently made a batch of cp soap using some oxides I bought. I don’t normally use oxides for colour in soaps but I wanted to make something fun for an effect I was thinking about. My recipe was: 20oz sunflower oil 6.6 oz water 2.6 oz lye Super simple - I added 3 grams of oxide to the oil...
