    Tomato blossom end rot

The saga continues...at the beginning of the summer I made some self-watering planters out of all of my 5 gallon coconut oil pails. I planted a variety of the tomato seedlings that our farmer's market neighbor vendors were selling - some heritage, some not, one cherry, one plum type...a variety...

Just got a post office refund for stolen merchandise! Yay!

My website kind of sucks, it's very dated and some of the links aren't working. My daughter is working on a new one for me on a different website builder. Thanks for the compliment, I had fun making them. The scent is leather (for the glove), dirt (infield), grass (outfield) and oak wood (for...

Just got a post office refund for stolen merchandise! Yay!

Thank you! I thought they'd be fun for Father's Day and then the markets were closed! :(

Just got a post office refund for stolen merchandise! Yay!

A good farmer's market customer place a big order since we're not doing markets this year. She knew I'd made some limited edition felted baseball soaps and she got two for her boys. When the package was delivered, it had a huge hole in the side! Weirdly, only the two baseball soaps and a salt...

When Your Best-Selling Items Aren't Soap...

We figured out that about 50% of my sales are non-soap items: shea butter, deodorant and salves, massage oil, soap dishes, essential oils, my sewn items like neck coolers and eye pillows, except now I'm not going to any shows or markets.

Do honeybees ever nest in raised garden beds?

So I've been watching YouTube videos of getting rid of yellow jackets with soap and water...I wish these little buggers had built their nest in the ground so gravity would carry the soap to where it needs to go...it's in the exposed side of a raised bed, just above ground level, but sideways...

Do honeybees ever nest in raised garden beds?

Did the soap harm the soil? Were you able to grow things there afterwards? That's my concern: I want to be able to use the soil.

Close to giving up soap making

I know someone who invested in lots of top-of-the-line equipment before they had even made a bar of soap with the idea of selling, and ended up having all her oils go rancid and selling her equipment at a loss because she didn't actually like making soap. She liked the idea of making soap. If...

Advice Needed About Product Received In Questionable Condition

Mike is super nice. They also have the best "on hold" music! :)

Eeek! Does anybody actually use with this oil!

Good aged patchouli is delicious. I have an all patchouli eo soap that sells well, and one of my bestsellers is a blend with cedarwood, patchouli, oakmoss, lime and spice eo's.

self-watering planters with coconut oil pails

To resolve the mosquito problem, I got some stainless steel pot scrubbers, stuck each one into an old knee-high stocking (weird the things that I still have around the house) and stuffed one down each pvc pipe. The stocking makes it easy to pull out and they are malleable so they take the shape...

    Coronavirus

Can you use your phone to video record her doing her perfunctory "cleaning" while not wearing PPE? Document it so it's not just your word against hers. A person like that shouldn't be in charge of anything.

    Cucumber Melon 8 lb loaf

that's not ugly! Now me, I can't make a rose soap that doesn't look like Spam to save my life. 🤪

    Best place to buy lye?

Exactly right, IrishLass. They denied any problem, but my ruined soap said they were...lying. I'm still using leftover lye from that lot# to clear drains.

    Best place to buy lye?

I get mine from Boyer. I used to buy from Essential Depot but got a bad batch from them years ago and haven't felt comfortable with them since.

    Coronavirus

Speaking of the corona virus, the government gave 7.3M$ to a start-up company in Houston called Fillakit (founded six days before landing the govt contract, by a shady guy who has run scams before) that was supposed to provide test tubes for the covid tests, but instead sent non-sterile soda...

Need Guidance for a Extra hard soap.

I read that viruses are composed of Rna (the genetic material) and protein with a lipid outer layer. The hydrophobic end of the soap molecules attach to the lipid structure of the virus and dissolve it, so the virus falls apart and can't replicate. I don't know if this is a correct explanation -...

A business question: lost packages - replace or refund?

I wouldn't ask for it back, at that point it would be his to use or throw away. I would have preferred jut giving him the refund at this point but he's really adamant that he wants the soap.

A business question: lost packages - replace or refund?

Thanks for all the replies. I exchanged another email with him this morning (thanks, Google Translate!) and have decided to try sending it once more - he really wants the product. Other recent orders to Germany and Spain have arrived, so I think he was just unlucky. But I'm rethinking whether or...
