    Lard soap

I made the lard soap with the recipe from Susie above. I was going to leave it unscented but have been wanting to use some lemongrass EO and lavender FO I had on hand. It turned out absolutely beautiful. I have had anxiety on when to cut my soaps but this seemed very hard after 24 hours. I...

    Lemons anyone

It looks lovely. I have lemon FO and am thinking I will just do a simple straight 1 color lemon bar!

    Making soap is so FUN

That is a great idea! Thank you so much! I love the look of the coconut but my first thought when I cut it was someone is going to say "it made a mess" "clogged their drain"

    Making soap is so FUN

Thank you Irish Lass, I dove into that lard recipe thread and just finished a batch of soap with lard. I couldn't commit to the plain and decided on a lemongrass and lavender blend ...tomorrow is another day to try to make "just plain" soap. LOL

What soapy thing have you done today?

I am waiting to take a simple one-color lavender soap out of the mold so I can use the lye and oils I have waiting to make a plain (hopefully white or light tan) natural lard soap. Lard soap

Thank you for this! I have home rendered lard and want to make a mostly lard bar and have been hemming and hawing over a recipe. I will try this! What was the general color of your bar? I am looking to get a white bar but natural color is more important to me than adding TD.

master-batched lye 50/50 adding coconut milk

I will be following your post. I finally made a coconut milk soap last night. I dumped my coconut milk in with the oils but my lye was cooled to about 85F. I didn't notice any curdling but I am a new soaper. I put unsweetened shredded coconut on top of my soap, sprayed with 91% and covered with...

    Coronavirus

I live in a small, rural town. Cornonovirus seems imaginary to me even though my 91 year old aunt got it and recovered. I live in a tourist area and people are still coming in droves though they waited until June instead of May to start touring this year. I am concerned about my child...

    Introduction

Hi, I just started making soap about July 10th...I have made about a batch a day and anxiously waiting while curing happens. I am obsessed with making soap. My latest creation is still in the mold coconut milk, coconut lime verbanda with unsweetened coconut on top. Welcome to your new hobby.

I absolutely love soap and must confess, I think about soap related things all the time. I am so excited to unmold my...
