    Fragrance Usage Rate Question

This is helpful, I bought a fragrance that is lovely (Christmas cabin) from Natures garden but the CP recommendation is 1%...that is not very much and I don't think my scent is gonna hold. I actually used 2 oz in 3 lbs of soap and now wonder how irritating it is going to be on the skin.

Lets talk about vanilla discoloration and CPOP....maybe just gel in general?

does vanilla stabilizer accelerate your soap batter in any way. Can I expect true color if I use vanilla stabilizer? How much vanilla stabilizer does one use per pound of oils? Thank you.

Inexpensive Micas for beginners or frugal soapers

I got some new micas (the big 99 sample pack from Nuture soap for $139! They send you 100. They are better than my amazon colorants. Shown is Clyde slide with TD, Lime Appeal and Lemon drop (the whole pack of both colors) which should color 1lb of oils. )

    Paraffin or Soy Wax

I'm a newbie too and I thought I wanted to make soy candles but then as I read..I went with para/soy blend (IG6006) because it seemed like it would be easier to make the para/soy blend work as a newbie. I have made several candles and they all turned out pretty great with the wax I chose. I...

    lye solution master batch?

Making a note for myself to come back to this thread. I am making 5 batches of soap on Saturday and master batching would save me a lot of time. I was seriously going to make up 5 batches of lye water but this sounds much easier. Irish Lass you are a gem!

    Getting a new snake 🐍

Today is feeding day for our new snake. I have really come to like him and am always worried about him wondering is he cold, bored, happy! He does not like to have his head touched but he is getting more comfortable when being held and will come out of his ball and cuddle and look and smell...

Inexpensive Micas for beginners or frugal soapers

Thank you. I guess I need to do some more research on curing. I thought that curing racks were supposed to be metal so the fragrance doesn't seep out but I do wonder about some metals reacting with the soap. I have added some freezer paper on the racks for the time being.

Inexpensive Micas for beginners or frugal soapers

I wanted to share that these Micas from Amazon work well in my beginner soap experience. I didn't know that I would LOVE soaping and didn't want to shell out $100s for colorants when I had already spent so much in molds, oils and fragrance. These micas from amazon have done well for me. Here...

Sunflower & extra virgin olive oil blend

Did you end up using this oil? I am looking at in Amazon right now because it is the cheapest olive oil I can find. I am interested in the blend and see that the SAP of olive and sunflower are exactly the same.

Olive oil vs HO Sunflower oil

How did your soap turn out? I am starting to wonder if I should give HO sunflower oil a try.

Why don't you like olive oil?

Interesting thread. I am needing more olive oil as I have used it in almost every recipe of my cold process soap thus far. I will try some sunflower oil but first need to find out what "high oleic" means and how it differs from regular sunflower oil. I live in a rural area and can't get all the...

    Getting a new snake 🐍

thank you. That is what the pet store owner said as well. The aspen came with the kit. I will definitely look into a facebook group. Thank you for the kind but honest feedback. Hearing it twice..I will change out the bedding sooner than later...it is very thin bedding.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I made a one-pot wonder today and it turned out AHmazing! I used milk instead of water so I popped this baby in the refrigerator because I don't want it to overheat. I really don't want any gelling either. This soap is so beautiful I can't wait to cut it. I hope just throwing it in the freezer...
