Am I doing something wrong, no stick blender for emulsion

Thanks! I was just trying to avoid the stick blender until I understood how emulsion looks (I'm just so scared of stick blending too much!). I guess I should have whisked in the beginning, but I did after I added FO and micas - does this also help with emulsion or am I too late at this stage?

Am I doing something wrong, no stick blender for emulsion

My first batch using awaken fragrance oil from Nurture Soap. My 2nd batch - with Pear and Lilly FO from nature garden candles I don't think these fragrance oils accelerated the batter much... My first batch, after 24 hours, the top looked a little slimy but after 48 hours, it looked more...

Am I doing something wrong, no stick blender for emulsion

Hi All, I have finally made 2 batches (but have not taken them out of the mould yet), but I think I might be doing something wrong. I've been scared to use the stick blender, so I have just been using a spatula and mixing it until it's creamy and what I think is a super light trace. there is...

Unmolding & when it can be done?

I literally came here to ask the same question! How do you know your soap isn't ready to be unmolded? Mine feels slimy still and I feel like if I poke too hard, my finger is going straight in.

    Mixing micas question

Thank you all for all the help!!! Since I am only making very small batches right now, I will just take from the soft oils (I didn't even think of this!) and or water from the lye solution.

    Mixing micas question

Hello! I have yet to make my first batch yet (some ingredients were delayed) and you all have already been so helpful with my first recipe, but I have a question about micas before I start. I have seen two ways people are using micas, 1. mix with a little bit of oil then pour it into the...

How to figure how much oil for mold.

Hi all, a little late to the game, and I probably should just start a new thread, but I found the formulas in this thread helpful, so just want to double check I'm doing the math correctly for my individual silicone molds: I have a cloud mold (12 in total), so i poured water in 1 and got: 2.2...

First recipe - will it work?

Thank you all for the feedback - I'm going to relook at my recipe before I attempt my first batch. @Obsidian @ImpKit great question - lol, I have no idea how I got half percentages. I think I was trying to work backwards (I started with an xcel recipe before plugging it into the soap...

Hi Everyone! Complete soap noob here - I have spent the last month watching youtube videos and reading books by Anne-Marie Faiola just to get familiar with all the lingo and science. The last of my ingredients (lye) is delivering on Wednesday so I will finally be able to start making my first...
