    Testing soap

I also have soaps that are 2+ years old..I check them every so often..I wanna know what they do over time since not all customers use the soaps they buy immediately. I dont test my 'go to' recipes, except for zap. {or unless something just doesn't look or feel right} Any new additives, or FO's...

    Cp v hp

CP for me..me and HP dont work well together. Min cure is 4 weeks, but if I have time I prefer to wait 8-12 weeks...the longer the better actually...1 year cure is heavenly :) I dont do Castile..just not for me. Haven't tried liquid soaps yet, so its bar all the way for now.

    My soap won't harden

"even though using hand held blender" "loose the temperature during stick blend process" Which are you using?..a hand mixer will not give you the speed you need to combine the oils and lye properly. "The water was flowing on the surface. The photo was taken after poured the water from the...

    Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia)

I was thinking infusion too..you can make it stronger by removing and replacing leaves every couple of weeks into the same carrier oil...wont be as strong of course as the pure oil, but it could be very nice :)

    Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia)

Found this site: http://sagegardener.blogspot.com/2007/09/growing-great-tea-tree.html They suggest: "Because Tea Tree plants are evergreen, they do like fertilizer year round. Using an organic fertilizer will encourage the healthiest possible root system, resulting in a resilient, healthy...

Surgical Spirit to combat soda ash

Rubbing alcohol is usually 70% Isopropyl Alcohol but can come in 91% strength also. {Its usually a clear liquid} Its sold in most drug stores..however if you can't find it there, you can always run your still molded soap loaf under hot water to remove the ash..then let it dry a bit and remove...

Its a great feeling isn't it? ;) First you are amazed you actually made soap..something that is very useful, and something everyone can use, thats actually more healthy to use... Then others chime in how cool it is and how they want this, and this, and that..... Just wait tho.....wait for the...

Cleaning your tools in the dishwasher?

I scrape out as much soap as I can with my silicone spatula {I LOVE those things} then its a wipe down with a paper towel and everything goes into the hot water...my lye pitcher however never sees soap in any form..just scalding hot water rinses. {I dont care for the 'floaties' that soap can...

    Not Ready To Sell, However

I like the second one the best..and def dont like the blue bar. Depending on how you layout your label, you could put the 'The' on top, and 'SoapMason' across the bottom...or...keep it how it is and put it on a curve... As for the extra line on the soap bar image, since it is a 2D image aiming...

Customer Asking for Info about Allergic Reaction

Something like Phytophotodermatitis? I looked it up and it has the 'handprint' shape rash..usually caused by enzymes in citrus and veggies....could be the mango butter or the FO if it was a citrus type yes?.. How odd tho, because there wasn't sun involved, and I think the article said something...
