    Bert's Redwood Cedar Dupe

I placed an order for the Redwood Cedar, Peach Magnolia Raspberry and Tangerine Dream from Tennessee Candle. I soaped them yesterday, so I can't speak on how well they stick. I do not like the Redwood Cedar. It reminds me of Teakwood & Cardamom from NG and I can't stand that one, but many...

The most beautiful packaging/labels I've seen

Jenna - Thanks for posting on this site and thank you for sharing where you get some of your packaging. It really is lovely and you have a great eye.

The most beautiful packaging/labels I've seen

I have always loved a beautifully wrapped soap, but always felt let down once it was opened and the wrapper was gone. The soap is so plain in comparison that it seems to me they are selling packaging, not soap.

It's that time again! Annual Fall FO Recommendations

Last night I mixed Spiced Cranberry from CC and Sandalwood from Gemlite to get a Cranberry Woods type fragrance. So far it smells great!

    Bert's Redwood Cedar Dupe

What does redwood cedar smell like? Is it a men's cologne type smell like cool water or is it more woodsy? Thanks!

    My soap turned brown!

Did you use any fragrance in your soap? That's what usually turns soap dark brown.

Ylang Ylang - can anyone explain the smell?

To me Ylang Ylang III smells like a floral mixed with the smell you would get walking through an industrial rubber plant or Pep Boys around their tire section. I've never smelled the other varieties, but I do not like this one.

    Let's talk TD again...

This original post was about my soap being soft and I thought it had something to do with my TD usage in oil. I can now say it was my lye for sure. I used the container up that I suspected over the weekend and all the soap from that will not harden. It may have gotten moisture in it...

This is me... connecting our names.

This is me! So awesome to see everyone's faces. I don't usually wear a tiara, but everyone was wearing them at this fun party I went to.

    Vanilla Test Project

Jim - What % of FO do you usually soap? I rarely go below 5%. I also find many fragrances get stronger as they sit, so you may be happier in a week or 2 with the Vanilla Musk. Good luck with soaping it again. I have tried adding more water, mixing the FO with some of the oil and...

    Vanilla Test Project

Jim - No, I have not tried that, but that sounds promising. Please post what your experience is once you soap it since I would love to know. Will you be soaping with Palm or Lard? I hate giving up on it, but it moved so fast I only had about 30 seconds and it was almost solid. It's...

    Vanilla Test Project

Vanilla Musk from CC is fantastic and sticks, but it's not a straight vanilla. It has some woody notes to it and it's not very sweet. It also heats and moves at the speed of light, so I'm only using it in blends. It's one of my all time favorite fragrances, very unisex. I just wish it was...

    Max steric in CP?

I have added 1.5% many times, but never more. I have started using it again in one recipe that I really like, but I don't use it most of the time.

    Wrapping for gifts....oil stain possibility?

I wrap mine is waxed baker tissue I get at Smart & Final. You can get a box of 1000 sheets, 5 1/2 X 9 for a few bucks. It's perfect and cheap, then you can wrap in pretty paper over that if you like.

Help! Advice needed for better melting techniques

I do exactly what Seawolfe does and it works for me. It's important to have the soap in something that retains the heat like glass so it cools slowly and won't harden before you can add your additive. Keep stirring so no skin develops.

Hi, my name is L and I have an addiction...

Wow! That's some collection you have there lynusann. I love a good jar candle myself and bought about 30 candles from Bath &body Works, but I told myself I need to use them before I buy more. I always have them burning in my house because they smell so nice. What was your intention...

    Sandalwood FO reviews

not_ally - I found my soap I soaped on 6/22/15 with the Gemlite Sandalwood and it smells great. Nice and strong and only discolored to a light tan, very nice color actually. Thanks for the recommendation! Now I need to smell Sweetcakes to compare them, but the Gemlite one is so inexpensive...
