Thank you so much IrishLass! Corgis are such a fun breed. They definitely love to herd! When Scout was younger she'd chase us around like crazy. And it certainly was a 'romantical' day!!! :D Thanks SaltedFig and Rowan! It was so fun to match my hair to my dress! I definitely had to do...

Thanks again all! Rowan - they definitely keep me busy! But they also both love to snuggle so it's nice to relax on the couch with them. I'll add a few more photos - my beachy wedding favour bars, and a few wedding photos! Can't help but share, it was like a fairytale. :)

Thanks ladies! Puppy pics incoming!!! His name is Mochi! He's a 5-month old corgi mix rescue. We also have a 6-year old female purebred corgi named Scout. They're getting along well! Mochi just got snipped yesterday so the poor little guy is sporting a cone of shame.

    I'm baaaack.

Hi all. I don't know if anyone remembers me or not, but I took a break from the forum (and soapmaking in general) over the summer. No particular reason... I just haven't felt like making soap since the spring! The last soaps I made were for my wedding favours. :) I got hitched in Mexico in...

New Pricing for Soap/Candle Molds & Poll

Agreed, I had the same question about usage vs longevity. I have many cheap molds that I've been using a few times a year for 5+ years with no signs of wear and tear.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Soaped for the first time in a month and everything went swimmingly. Batter was a delight to work with, no soap gremlins! I finally went ahead with my beach/sea soap for my wedding favours. 2 batches down, 3-4 to go. I'll do more next weekend. Looking forward to cutting these loafs up, they...

    Lemon Slice in Soap?

I wouldn't want lemon slices, fresh or dehydrated, in my soap! They'd either be scratchy or weird mushy protuberances. Bleck. I agree that doing some soap-based lemon embeds would be a nice option. :) Check out this cute lemon bar design by Sorcery Soap...

    Saponification check

Zap-test! Give the soap at least a week to finish the saponification process, then wet a gloved finger with water, rub it on the soap, then gently touch your finger to your tongue. If you feel a little ZING like putting your tongue on a battery, that means there is still active lye in your soap.

Where Do You Buy Your Supplies?

I believe she is looking for syndet ingredients for bath & body products, not soapmaking oils.

Where I buy coconut and palm oil

I am getting prices if I first select "Canada", then "Soap Makers Order Here" on the left bar, then enter the "soap" password. Good grief! Then it looks like you must enter the Quantities of each item you wish to purchase, scroll to the bottom, then fill out their INQUIRY form. Order form...
