    Hiyo! I made a pokeball cold process soap and I'm super proud of it, and thought I'd show it off somewhere where people can appreciate the difficulty of the thing. This is almond scented and smells delightfully of maraschino cherries.

    I do calculate out the extra lye I need yes! I use a 5% superfat. Distilled water is always a good idea, as well.

    I use vinegar(acetic acid) and citric acid in my soaps all the time! My recipes are a bit speedy, although most of the time I have just enough time for a drop swirl or an itp swirl, if the fragrance behaves.     Struggling with activated charcoal

    I've never had the problems you're talking about, and I like making a pitch black bar. I dump mine directly into my oils, but I also use vinegar as a hardener for all of my soaps, so that could make a difference.
