Do you have to use fine salt? Could you use coarse or would it be too scratchy?

    Sodium Citrate

Recipe: Olive oil 39%, Coconut oil 19%, Palm oil 16%, Castor oil 16%, Shea butter 6%, I know the percentages are a bit off, but I didn't add the decimals. I added .7 oz of sodium citrate. I will definitely try that next time. At least if it won't dissolve I won't waste my lye and stuff.

    Sodium Citrate

Could somebody give me some advice? I read an article that talked about sodium citrate in soap. So I bought some to start putting in my soap and I I tried using it the other night. It was a disaster. I ended up throwing my soap in the trash. I added it to my lye water, and it would not dissolve...

    Soap calc question

I have a recipe made that has an amount to fit my mold. I want to make cupcake soaps and I need the recipe to be a bit larger so I know I'll have enough frosting. Is there a way that I can put in my current recipe and then make soap calc make adjustments to give me a certain weight? Thanks for...

    Looking for a slab mold

Thank you everyone for the suggestions and tips. I'm going to get the clear mold, but a smaller 3 pound size. The hubby is letting me splurge a bit for mothers day!

    Looking for a slab mold

Thank you! I'm glad to hear they have a good reputation and I will definitely check out the youtube videos. I think I'm going to go ahead and splurge while I can. I think the clear molds are so cool. I'm so inpatient, so I'm thinking that if can see the soap the wait won't be so bad lol.

    Looking for a slab mold

I was looking at these: https://www.etsy.com/listing/509418927/slab-soap-mold-with-bottom-liner?ref=shop_home_active_16&crt=1 https://www.etsy.com/listing/804824053/tallskinny-slab-soap-mold-3lbs?ref=shop_home_active_2 I was also considering this, but asking if they could make it smaller to...

    Looking for a slab mold

Does anybody know where I can find a decent 2-3 pound slab mold, preferably with a silicone liner? I've found a couple on Etsy that seem very well made and have great reviews, but they don't come with liners. I'm not really comfortable with having to take the mold apart to get the soap out, I'm...

That black tea sounds amazing! There are so many things I want to try from Brambleberry, but their shipping prices are insane.

That sounds really nice. I'll have to try it out. I bought spa tonic from WSP. Its green tea with aloe and lemon. The reviews are pretty good, so I'm excited to try it out. I wish it wouldn't take so long to get delivered.

    Recipe questions

I do like being cheap, so I guess I'll try adding green tea powder to my own oil. I only bought 2oz to try out in a small batch of soap, so no major loss if I don't like it. That's good to know about the butters from WSP. The only one I've bought from them is shea.

    Recipe questions

Snob away lol, I know I'm definitely snobby about certain things. I was just wondering if there was there was something bad about it, like the way it was processed since you guys don't like it. I sold my melt and pour soaps for a bit when I was a stay at home mom, but if I ever sell cp it won't...

    Recipe questions

It doesn't necessarily have to be this exact recipe that I want as my main, I really just want a green tea soap for my main recipe. Sweet almond oil is the first ingredient listed on that green tea butter and the vegetable oil is the last. I'm going to try it out to see if I like it or not. I...

    Recipe questions

I will definitely be running it through soap calc. I've already been playing around with it on there, adding oils and butters just to see the differences. I don't have any particular recipe that I like. I'm extremely new to cold process. I only made my first batch of soap almost two weeks ago. I...

    Recipe questions

Thank you so much for the answer and all of your advice! The website does give the sap value for the green tea butter, so I'll mess around with that on the calculator. I don't mind if the soap turns brown. It's just for me and family if they want it. I looove green tea and ever since I saw the...

    Recipe questions

I found a recipe in a book that I really want to expand on and make it my main recipe. It's a green tea soap. You're supposed to use green tea instead of water when you mix your lye. It calls for almond oil, avocado oil, coconut oil and olive oil. I ran it through soap calc and it's going to be...
