    Breast Milk Soap Experiment

I’ve read on a lot of mom boards I follow that people are interested in breast milk soap. I understand however the science behind soap making and I’m not convinced it would have any benefit. That said, I’m a breast feeding mom and I had some spare milk on hand so I figured, what the hell...

    Well I am addicted

It’s getting bad guys lol just finished batch number 5, trying out red palm oil... it does not play well with colours apparently... even charcoal only turned it green. Not sure what I’m going to do with 60+ bars of soap... still got TONS more ingredients too, hope my family and friends like them!

    Well I am addicted

Made my first batch 1 week ago to the day, it’s curing away still, enticing me to make more while I wait to try them! Made 2 more batches this week, tried a swirl and then decided to see what a milk soap looks like without colour... looks yummy! I honestly want to quit my job and just make soap...

    Predictions for my for batch?

Took everyone’s advice and adjusted my CO and Caster for my second batch (19 & 5%) and otherwise changed it up quite a bit. Added Olive oil, Lard, Shea & Cocoa. Also bumped up the EO, tried a blend of Sandalwood and Lavender, I don’t hate it but it needs something else... thoughts? Took my time...

    Predictions for my for batch?

Oh and by the way I unmolded and cut the soap about 13 hours after making it and it seemed very much like cutting cheddar cheese so it sounds like I did that right, Woohoo lol here’s a pic, not the nicest looking soap of all time but hey!

    Predictions for my for batch?

Thanks for the reply! I’m trying to formulate a recipe that does not include palm oil or any lard/shortening ideally but seem to have trouble keeping the numbers where I feel I’ll want them when I lower the caster and or CO as suggested, not that I really know what I want yet lol Is there a way...

    Predictions for my for batch?

Thanks for the reply and advice, looking forward to seeing how this cures and preforms! I’ll let you know if I end up with any stickiness or drying effect. min the essential oils, I was a bit of a wuss here lol I read somewhere that Lavender essential oil should not be used over 3%, is that...

    Recommendations for beach themed soap

I’m new to this whole thing so this is purely option based but I would base it on the scent. If you have fruity or citrus scents I’d go orange and yellow or if you like scents more like ocean breeze type thing then maybe a base layer left the natural colour with the top 3/4 a coupe shades of...

    Predictions for my for batch?

Hey everyone! did my first batch this afternoon and I think it turned out ok, I over mixed as I was warned against and panicked a bit. Only ended up getting about a quarter of my colour in before I felt like I had to pour, so instead of a beautiful lavender purple it looks brown with a purple...

    Beginner question - calculator importance

Very much appreciate the detailed reply! I know for sure I’ve got at least a year or more of work before I can truly sell but that’s the goal I’ll be working towards anyway. Luckily my hubby is an entrepreneur himself and has helped me research all the packaging/insurance/selling/shipping costs...

    Beginner question - calculator importance

Hey everyone, I’m new to the forum, made soap for years but only with my mom and only ever following her super simple recipe. I’m now a stay at home mom and have decided to pick up soap making as a hobby business, if it takes off, amazing, if not it’ll be fun and I know I’ll get my friends and...
