How many of you use sodium lactate while making a soap ? What type of quality does it add to a soap ?

Today I made my 3 batch of soap, instead of thin trace I blended extra and made a thick pudding stage.. i had to scoop out and put into the mold.. I have kept it to go through gel phase now. Can I let it sit for 24 hrs or should I unmold it sooner ? Any suggestions

Hi, can we do this ? I mean we r supposed to cover the soap mould and let it sit for 24 hrs to finish the gel stage right? Why should we skip the gel phase?

So to make a aloe Vera soap I just have to take the inside of a aloe Vera, make a paste and replace it with amount of water I use to make lye.. is that it. did I miss anything ?

What will be the difference in soap if I make a recipe with 38% lye concentration and another one with 40% concentration without changing the rest of contents.

How does the percentage of Naoh affects quality of a soap.. 38%or 40%.. what is the difference? And I recently purchased some handmade soaps.. I didn't like them as they give a pungent smell .. is this normal?
