What soapy thing have you done today?

Teresa nice job! Cut my loaf of Cool Water for the guys this morning... I did a drop swirl for this one, didn't want a thin trace but it was thicker than I wanted, not sure if it was the FO or my heavy handed SB.

    Coffee EO

I'm not sure if she will like a vanilla fragrance. I'll try grinding my coffee to a powder and adding cocoa to it and see if I get the results I'm looking for.

    Coloring Soap

Ooo oo oo {raising hand}! I know the answer to that question cause I asked the same thing a while ago... Those are silicone mats (for fondant) I think that she got at Michaels and cut to line her mold...

    Shea butter %

I'm one of those people that use 25% and I really like it. I add castor oil if I don't need a thin trace for swirls or sugar if I do for more lather...but even without them I love the bar and think the lather is okay.

Help a jones-ing math moron out...

I thought I made it plenty strong but afterwards I added the espresso just to be sure and still... I don't think she would like choco or vanilla scent, I'm hoping if I use cocoa it won't smell too much, besides, I'm using peppermint EO so maybe it will drown it out...

    Coffee EO

I unmolded early knowing it was a dud which is why it's not so crisp. Reminded me of puffed wheat I used to eat as a kid. Wondering if next time I should use my black oxide or coco powder to color it. My sister isn't a chocolate fan...(I know she's very weird) so I don't know if it will give...

    Coffee EO

Okay, so I made my coffee soap...I used very strong coffee and wasn't happy with the color so I added a tsp of espresso powder to really darken it up...this is what I was hoping for...

How soon can I shrink wrap?

I bought some shrink wrap and have never used it before. I know there is a learning curve there and anyone with words of wisdom...please chime in. I'm wondering though...how soon can I wrap? Do I have to wait until the soap is completely cured?

    My shower, the laboratory

Since I mostly make loaves, I cut the ends off and then cut each end into quarters. With those 8 pieces I use one piece each week to see how the soap develops over time. It's given me a real understanding of the cure and how the soap develops. It's also really interesting to see how different...

    Feathered ITP swirl

So let me see if I understand this...you put your colors in the bowl, poured them in the mold for an ITP (In The Pot) swirl...and then did you do something else like a hanger swirl???

    Liza Wiley

Yup, I hear that! It was so much cheaper in the days when I was just making plain soap for my own use...then came the EOs, then the one color...then making for family...now that I'm playing with design I want a good slab mold, a good planer, more colors, dividers (I'm running out of cardboard...

If I had wanted rice I would have ordered Chinese...

Oh crap, I poured off the oil already...about a tablespoon. Should I put some olive oil on it to replace it...will this cause a lye issue?
