    Midwest fragrance

I hope that is the case but we shall see. It is a lovely smell I will use it in body butter or bath bombs. Just not soap again most likely. If it returns I will update for sure but as of now it has zero cold throw. However the cucumber melon smells much better to me after saponification. Wife...

    Midwest fragrance

Update on the bamboo and teakwood. Don’t waste time with soap. Almost all smell disappeared after 24 hours. Others seem to be holding fine. Might be good for other applications.

    Midwest fragrance

Tried two more this evening. Both recipes behaved normal. Although they traced 20times faster than my lard recipe bars on the trials above, the palm recipe I use always tends to trace significantly faster, so with that said, they behaved as expected for my mix. cucumber melon was fine to work...

Volcano is more citrus than I expected but still a great smell. And the cocoa cashmere I will reorder.

    Midwest fragrance

Decided to give them a shot. I ordered over 30 fragrances to test. Looking for any input on fragrances used from them. I used two different ones last night. cedar musk+ lavender. The smell is not too strong but a good overall smell. I am terrible at describing scents. It did not accelerate or...

    Ucuuba body butter

I’m dreaming of a Christmas themed body butter with ucuuba. Love the smell of this butter. Any idea on a good EO combo for this butter? My daughter said it smells like cookies and wife thought it smelled like nutmeg.

    Time to make tallow

I asked him for 10 pounds. I don’t remember exact weight but I remember him saying “eh 11 close enough”. I wish I would have weighed now for exact weight. But I just put the finished product on the scale. It is dry now and weighs 9 pounds 11 1/4 oz. I don’t remember throwing much away besides...

    Time to make tallow

I had no meat. Some blood on the cut but no meat. I didn’t have to trim anything. I placed in a large pot, added salt+water, and simmered until the fat rendered down. Next run it through a fine mesh metal screen, then cheesecloth, freezer, remove and drain. Then melt and filter again through a...

    Time to make tallow

Ugly shot of the vacuum filter before I clean. Took forever to render, cool and filter multiple times but I have a product with virtually no smell and a nice ivory color.

    Time to make tallow

Finally done with scraping the bowls ans filtering 3 times. Twice in cheesecloth then once in my vacuum assisted filter.

    Time to make tallow

I will be rendering and making my own tallow today. Found a local butcher that gave me a cut I wanted for cheap!

    First successful swirls

I soaped around 85degrees then cover and put in a warm oven overnight. Was going for a full gel.

    First successful swirls

We have made a few attempts that all included errors. While these bars aren’t perfect, they are our first batch that went very smooth without seizing and plenty of work time. Wife and I had a lot of fun with this batch. New soap cutter is much nicer than individual slicing! Not happy with the...

    New toy!

I have yet to check pitch. I’ll leave a negative review if they aren’t all in tune!!😂

    New toy!

I chose this one just off minimal research. Hope it’s well. I wanted something with no wood no plastic. This is all stainless.

    New toy!

Got this on Etsy: shipped fast from Croatia. Less than a week. Now I need to make soap so I can test the cutter! More excuses to make soap! Haha

    Hair day labels/packing

Premade base. I tried bases from a couple suppliers. I plan to try and make my own after I master soaps.
