carrot cupcake is pretty good, it accelerates some and it discolors, but for “carrot” theme it seems to work well. Scent retention is good. I made these a few months ago and they still smell yummy.

    ashy and crumbly embeds

Nice job! Seems heating the mold might help to force gel, but it may be a little finicky depending on trace and temperature. I have found increasing the lye concentration above 35% and using CPOP to be most effective at avoiding soda ash.

    First time silk

I love how the wisps radiate from the brown, vs white pulling into the brown as well. Really lovely and it sounds like it smells amazing! I’ve never considered adding silk, assume it was tussah silk? Let us know what you think. Edit spelling

Wanted to share the batch I made this week, no colorant and no fragrance. I did however make bastille instead of Castile, went with 15% coconut and 5% castor. I had actually tried this a year ago, but upped the SF to 3%. I’m interested to see the difference no SF makes.

My DH suggested offloading some soap at our annual neighborhood garage sale…. maybe I should plan to do that this year. So far, I’ve not had too much trouble giving them away to family and friends about as fast as I can make them. Starting to get requests for a whole loaf for my niece to...
