    Whittany Who?

Thank you!. I'll try it again, it is such a clever device. I may also try laying it on a piece of freezer paper to avoid scuffing the soap as i bevel the edges.

So I just discovered firsthand what 'ricing' is :-(

YMMV, but i have had both happen. I have not blended enough after it riced and ended up with gross little wet spots of FO, that batch ended up being rebatched... I've also had ricing where i SB to smooth it out with absolutely no hint of any issue. So for me, it depends a lot on how quick to...

Advice on CP formulation for super hard water

Hey friends! I've read through all the previous posts on formulations with chelators and the various discussions on laundry formulations. I'm excited about an upcoming trip to stay in a cabin that has exceptionally hard water. Our last visit, my delightful CP soaps were completely ineffective...

    Whittany Who?

ZNSC vs conventional - early performance results

Last week I made a batch of Zany's No Slime Castile soap, as Bastille soap with 15% coconut and 5% castor. I thought it would be fun to see how this batch performed versus other formulations which I prepared over one year ago. Recognizing it is completely ridiculous to expect much from any 1...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I did a lather test of the 1 week old batch of ZNSB (80% OO) I made vs 1 year old bars of Castile, Bastille and salt water bastille. I thought there was a separate thread someone had linked for lather/performance testing but now I can’t find it. And yes, I am asking a lot of a 1 week old bar...

    Too much additives?

Interesting, I understood the addition of tussah silk, I didn’t realize that corn silks would do something similar.

    Too much additives?

Corn silk is an interesting addition. What’s the theory behind that? I assume it would be similar to a puréed vegetable in terms of contribution to the soap, albeit less sugar. I’m reluctant to try additives that seem suspect for spoilage, so I have no experience in the benefits of these...
