    Screeeech!!!! Help.

Late to the party, but how did it all turn out?

    A need for levity

Oh, Kay! I'm so glad I watched this. She's hilarious, a blond Aunt Betty. Thanks for the laughs, there where a LOT of them!

    Curing rack ideas

You are right of course and I should have mentioned that they are stainless. Good catch, thanks!

    Curing rack ideas

This works for me. Set up in back room with no pet traffic. Stack and restack to your heart's content. One old cookie sheet taken out of circulation, and that's it!

When do you all "shape" your soaps?

Oh dear, D Oh dear, no, color ME overly cautious and reluctant to goof things up. And also managing to not see the above post until today. Seriously, today, over a month later. :( Anyway, in my mind, trimming and beveling are not the same. My earlier post was really simply about trimming. The...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Oh lordie, me too! I even thought about starting a thread on it. Plastic is just EVIL. No way can I leave the stuff out to dry overnight though. And not wanting our septic system to resemble the sewers of London (now that's a video worth watching -- enormous fat-bergs floating lazily along), I...

It's Only Day 7 and I've Become a Day Drinker!

Bailey's in your morning coffee comes to mind. Forgive me if I sound flip by responding with humor, but I have no skills in the area of dealing with those kinds of stress. Avoidance has always been my preferred course of action. And if avoidance is not possible, I simply try to ride it out and...

    Will dispersed micas "keep"?

You covered all the bases for me, @cmzaha. And it all makes perfect sense. Thank you!

    Will dispersed micas "keep"?

Thank you @Mobjack and @dibbles. It's comforting to know that you've done it before, @dibbles, without apparent disaster. I'll do as you suggest and just test it for myself. I wonder if the YouTubers mix right before use because they are videotaping the process and viewers would probably want to...

    Will dispersed micas "keep"?

Long time, no dumb question asked, so here goes... Will dispersed mica powder "keep" for a bit, or must it be used soon after mixing?? I'd like to be able to mix some, and then use it a day or two (or six!) later. Is that advisable? And if it is, what limitations or requirements would there be...

    Soft Lard - Help Please

Oh! I'm so glad you weighed in on this thread. I hope my question fits right in. Have you ever rendered lard in a pressure cooker? I did last time and it turned out fine. I use it both in baking and in soap. Flaky biscuits and pie crusts, and lovely lathery soap -- from the same simple product...

    Aquamarine marble horizontal cut method

What "she" said. All of you. Really gorgeous. Could it be done with CP?? Sheesh, so pretty....

When do you all "shape" your soaps?

Super! Thanks! Although, at my age, even buying green bananas becomes a questionable investment. LOL!

When to trim/shape CP bar edges

Oh, I am laughing! Definitely not brain surgery. And get this -- about 2 hours ago I slapped myself (figuratively of course) and went at a 4-wk old bar with the paring knife again, but with a nice bevel in mind. It was so EASY!!! I feel like an *** now for agonizing over it for three days. Mind...

When do you all "shape" your soaps?

Holy cats, now I don't have to start a new thread to ask specifically about beveling! Seek and ye shall most likely find, at least on this forum. :) I'm going to make a batch today so I can try to bevel a few fresh edges tomorrow. I may try on a 3-week old bar as well, but I'm betting it will be...

When to trim/shape CP bar edges

You know, I AM saving them, but have no idea how I will use them other than in a confetti soap. I'm not even going to ask how you go about rebatching as that is a 'whole other thing', and I promise to search before asking. The answer is probably already out there! Thanks! Oh good. I wasn't...

When to trim/shape CP bar edges

I meant absolutes as far as trimming.

When to trim/shape CP bar edges

Oh my goodness, I'm so glad you replied as it was YOUR soaps that especially caught my eye and made me think 'I could do that... if I had the tools, knowledge, and patience!'. Especially thankful that you mentioned those specifics (all foreign to me) about your soaps so that I DON'T try to do...

When to trim/shape CP bar edges

I love the look of beveled edges on rectangular bars. Is there a right time to do that? Or perhaps I should ask if there is a WRONG time to do it? Before setting out to cure, after fully cured, or any old time I want??? Hopefully it doesn't matter, but I've never tried it and really dislike...
