    I met a forum member!

It's always fun when that happens! Glad you had a nice visit.

    Nettle vs. Parsley Colorants

For future reference, if you infuse the dried leaves or powder in oil, you will get a much more vibrant green color. Either way, your soap is very pretty. I like the mountain peaks of your pencil line.

    Liquid oozing out

A photo would be helpful for diagnosis also. It sounds like you got some separation from overheating or a failure to come at true trace. In either case, if I have oozy pockets, I almost always rebatch. Better safe than sorry.

    Trying to make dark purple

Hmm, I haven't had a problem with charcoal incorporating. However, I don't use it any more. I prefer black oxide to darken my colors.

    What on earth happened!?!

Did you use a fragrance oil? Some can cause soap to overheat and separate. Also, you might want to tinker with your soap recipe. It's all liquid oils and soy, canola, and peanut have relatively short shelf lives. Maybe substitute some of those oils with coconut, palm, or tallow? The color...

    Inconsistent Color

It might be surface ash, not sure. Making sure your soap goes through a full gel and then spraying the exposed surface with 90% isopropyl alcohol generally deters it.

    People scare me!!

Unfortunately this is all too common. Better to take a deep breath and let it go. Trying to educate them is going to be met with resentment most of the time. Unfortunately, many people are short-sighted and don't realize that CP soap is an incredibly saturated market and not an easy means to...

    Deceptively disasterous! Cut bar Pics

I really like them. I'd call them Storm at Sea - limited edition. They'll sell out in a flash.

    Deceptively disasterous!

You've probably invented the next trend in soaping design! Be sure to share pictures of the cut soap.

    Love the results! Very striking!

    Jagermeister soap?

As long as you get rid of the alcohol (try heating it as Obsidian suggests), it should be fine. It would be interesting to try to duplicate the scent of all of those herbs! You might try Save On Scents - they have lots of very unusual fragrance dupes. I have made soap with diet Coke, beer...

    Shampoo bar residue

I couldn't stand the gunk and gave up - I applaud those who have the will to persevere! :) I make detergent based solid shampoo bars and they work better for me.

    When to cut soap?

If it has gelled, I cut when it's cooled back down to room temperature - anywhere from 12-24 hours after it's poured. If it's ungelled, it depends on the recipe but usually 2 days, sometimes 3.

    Pumpkin Spice & Apple Cider

Very nice looking soap! I love what fruit purees do to boost lather!

The look really matches the scent - very striking!

Whole loaf of Bacon Soap...in the trash!

Sorry it didn't work out! Even if it smelled like good bacon, I don't think I could wrap my brain around showering with bacon scent. Reminds me of my one attempt to make "mary jane" scented soap for an old hippie friend of mine. FO came from AHRE; the smell was dreadful. Only FO I've ever...
