    OMG TKB Trading Updated Colors

Nurture seems to keep changing the micas she stocks. I'm not familiar with the new Vibrance line.

    Replacement for hydrog soy oil

I would go to soapcalc.net, check out the fatty acid profile for hydrogenated soy, and then look at other oils and see what looks similar. Personally, I've never been a huge fan of soy as it's less stable than many other soaping oils (although hydrogenated will have a longer shelf life). As $6...

Does beeswax really make for a harder soap?

Cocoa butter contains stearic but it will not accelerate trace like pure stearic acid does. I use it (or kokum) at 5-10% in my recipe and haven't found it to be too speedy.

Does 100% coconut soap always tingle a bit

Did you use a fragrance? Fragances that contain eugenol (it's naturally occurring in essential oils like clove and in some floral scents as well as being present in many artificial fragrance oils) will give you a bit of a tingle if you lick your soap.

Hi! I'm new here! Need some advice

All the info you need is here. But if you want a book to pull it altogether, I recommend Alicia Grosso's Everything Soap Book. And welcome to the forum!

    Insurance who do you use?

My RLI was about $150 for a base policy. I sell casually only and sometimes donate soap to fund raisers. If you become a volume seller (in excess of 5K per year), you'd need something else.

Does 100% coconut soap always tingle a bit

You may just need to give it more time. Did it gel? Ungelled will take longer to saponify.

I like your color and scent choice!

Does beeswax really make for a harder soap?

I would use a hard butter like cocoa or kokum, at 5-10% to up the hardness of my soap. IME, beeswax makes my soap feel, well, waxy, and it's a pain to use as has been described already.

    Peppermint eucalyptus soap

Lovely! Although it reminds me of watermelon. ;)

HP or CP for therapeutic eo?

I also vote for HP, as cool as possible while still being able to cram it in the mold.

Is this normal for Funky Hair Syndrome?

SkaterGirl, I have never been able to get CP shampoo bars to work for me. My hair would feel great straight out of the shower and then within a few hours, it was a gunky matted tacky mess. I tried maybe 10 different formulations with various oils, additives, and superfat %. I tried various...

    Freezer paper

I'm amazed that you can't find freezer paper in Canada. What do hunters use to wrap up their meat? You might try Amazon if you ever run out of your 10 rolls!

    Soda Soap?

I made diet Coke soap for a friend of mine as a joke. It worked out fine. Given the sugar in regular soda pop, as mentioned above, you'd want to be mindful of that - perhaps put your soap in the refrigerator after you've poured it or maybe use single cavity molds. Given that sugar and beer...

pink powder colorant for my salt bar

I also like rose clay because the color remains more stable over time than botanical colorants. At least, in my experience.

    Seal Oil Soap

Interesting. I wonder how much seal oil is in there - it would be nice to know if it's listed primarily for label appeal or if it's a significant % of the recipe.

    Lumpy coconut milk soap

I also prefer using a strong lye/water solution and then adding the coconut milk to my oils. Because the coconut milk gets so sludge-like, it's difficult to verify that all of the lye has dissolved. Better safe than sorry!

    Soap Separation Anxiety

The natural sugars in the fruit may be what caused your soap to heat up and separate. You might want to soap cooler next time and/or put your mold in the refrigerator after you pour your soap.

Please help me!! My Soap is not the same what i saw in youtube!

I liked Seven's recipe recommendation as a practical solution for the oils you have available to you. I also agree that you should seek out pomace olive oil which is 100% olive oil but the lowest grade. It is fine for soap and should be cheaper. Also, use a lye calculator like the one on...
