    Your thoughts on Tussah Silk?

I was gifted a large bag of tussah silk, amongst other things, and the person who gave it to me emphasized on it quite a bit. Tonight I decided to add it to a batch of soap to see what the fuss is about. It scared me at first because she said to add a small amount to the lye mixture and it’ll...

How Do I Clean Silicone Molds?

I believe the proper phrase is: “...Ooh Weee, I’m a rebel just for kicks...”

    Rounded Edge Beveler

Has anyone ever tried beveling by using router attachments on a dremel or even just using a router itself? I’m thinking of experimenting with it. I have a router, a dremel, and numerous attachments for both. Maybe that’ll be next weekends project.

How Do I Clean Silicone Molds?

Has anyone experienced an oily, sticky film in silicone molds? What about mica residue? lIf so, how do you go about cleaning it? I was gifted several silicone molds and a couple of them have that oily film that just regular washing doesn’t seem to clean off. The red silicone molds from...

    For those that MasterBatch

For my beer brewing, I use a product called PBW to remove the labels from commercial beer bottles. I then use another product called One Step to clean and sanitize the bottles. I’m gonna experiment on my next detergent bottle and see if either of these work at cleaning out the scent.

What kind of cutter is this?

Buahahahaha! I applaud your determination! But I never condone the use of a mans tools... [emoji23] I’m particular about my tools, so I purposely own a set of loaner tools for when people ask to borrow. Make sure you take pictures and show us! I wanna see

Is Lye supposed to have a static cling to it?

I do all my soaping in my workshop. It’s completely dry in there and I still run into a strong static cling. I suspect maybe the lye beads are lighter than flakes, allowing the static clings to be seen more. Maybe lye itself produces that static from rubbing on itself? Or even rubbing on the...

Is Lye supposed to have a static cling to it?

Good to know! And the hdpe makes sense because the bottle that contains the beads is made of hdpe. Thanks for the tip.

Is Lye supposed to have a static cling to it?

I recently switched brands of lye and noticed that when I pour into my plastic bowl, some of the lye beads tend to gravitate to the sides of the bowl and stay there until I force it down with a spatula. The beads also seem to cling to the container it’s held in, forcing me to have to clean off...

Freshly Cut Pine Tar Soap (first time using my diy mold)

I wish you all could smell them. It’d really add to that yummy look! I’ve been making the long cold trek to my garage every morning just to smell them before going to work every morning since I made them. The butterscotch smell is just to die for. I also think of butterbeer from Harry Potter...

    Good source for loofah sponges?

You can buy loofah seeds on amazon for cheap. I bought loofah seeds and large bottle gourd seeds a couple weeks ago. I still haven’t planted them and it may be a little late in the season but I’m still gonna try. FYI, loofah and bottle gourds are in the same family of plants, so I got them...

Finally finished my DIY HDPE soap mold and a 20+ bar wire cutter!

You’re not bothering at all! =) As for gelling, I honestly don’t know if I did or didn’t. I’m still trying to learn about it. I left my soap for 24hrs in the mold. I’ll take a pic of the cut bar itself and post it up for a comparison maybe... I’ve only seen gelling in pics on sites I read...
