    Here ya go then @Zany_in_CO

They are fantastic! I love the Raglan Sand and Surf Soap. Did you use a large cupcake/muffin mould for that one?

    CP Thickens so quickly!

I recently made this redipe, which could be reworked for your oils... 50% Olive oil (could be reduced) 25% Coconut (similar to yours) 10% Sunflower (could increase and use CB instead) 10% Shea butter (could be increased) 5% castor. This worked great and produced a firm white bar with lovely...

    CP Thickens so quickly!

Alot of CP soaps I have seen for sale here use Olive, Coconut, Canola, Sunflower as their main oils as they are cheap at the Supermarket. Tallow is $4 for a 500g block (so well priced) if you would like to go that way. Grapeseed Oil and Ricebran oil is also well priced, Avocado and some nut oils...

    Distilled water

Great. I can always collect rainwater then if I need to. I think the water on the South Coast of Australia is pretty good. I have been using water I bring up from town (we have ikky bore water) and filter with a charcoal system. It seems ok for now (or until my soap goes manky i guess!).

    Mica and TD

You could try both and see which works better? It is just that I have seen pigments, TD for sale with both water soluble and oil soluble options. The Lovin Soap lady (I am having a brain fade with her name right now) just throws the Mica in a then buries it with the blender and blends. I think...

Hi From New South Wales, Australia

I am about to order some small sized from Eroma to try. I dropped by their shopfront/ warehouse last week while I was in Sydney. They are half the price of the Brambleberry FOs for Aussie Soap Supplies, so I thought they are definitely worth a try. I am wary of FO suppliers because they are...

    Distilled water

Thanks DeeAnna That makes sense! Great to know the minerals causing the problems. We have some pretty tricky filters at my house to deal with mineral rich bore water, so I will have to look into it in more detail. I know for sure that I wouldn't use our home water for soaping even once it had...

Hi From New South Wales, Australia

Thanks Kim, I'll look into that. A bit of Australia-specific info would be great

    Mica and TD

Hi From the videos I have watched and reading about colouring, I would suggest mixing into a little oil from the batch and then blending it in once your soap is emulsified. I am a bit nervous about just dumping the mica into the whole batch and blending it in as soap with lumps of unmixed mica...

    Distilled water

Would a benchtop filtering unit be the most cost effective and convenient solution in the long run? I can smell/taste the chemicals in tap water and our benchtop unit seems to do a pretty good job or sorting that out. I guess how pure the filtered water is would just depend on the micron size...

Yes, I was looking for the tabs but couldn't see them. That would be the problem. We have Samsung Android devices at our house? So I will download the google sheets app

Hi From New South Wales, Australia

Thanks for that ☺ I am very familiar with sweating! A great reason not to use melt and pour at all. I have been using my vacuum sealer to bag up my soaps! I generally prefer natural (or as close as possible) as well, but am happy to use modern techniques and chemicals where they improve the...

Hi From New South Wales, Australia

Hi Penelopejane That is exactly my gripe. Most of the MP bases are all full of rubbish. I make from scratch generally, but the transparent soaps are something a bit different for loofah and honey kind of soaps and the clear are cool for kids soaps. I have ordered from Aussie Soap Supplies. I...

Hi Am I correct in assuming that the FO review database is based on Excel and therefore not viewable on a mobile device? I am having no luck when trying to view it on my tablet and just wanted to make sure that I wasn't having a brain fade lol.

Hi From New South Wales, Australia

Hi Everyone I'm Callie. I am from the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia. I started soaping late last year and have had a bit of a play with a few techniques with varying levels of success. My biggest issues at the moment are finding supplies at the right price without loosing out on...

Methylated spirits as the alcohol in Translucent Soap?

Hi, I just need some advice from my Soapy Friends in Australia in regard to what 'ethanol' to use as a solvent in transparent soapmaking and where to get it. Methylated Spirits (95% ethanol) is readily and cheaply available at Bunnings. Is this OK or will the denaturing agents wreak havoc with...

CP versus HP - Do any of you do both?

Hi. I have only been making soap for a few weeks now, but all of the practical chemistry and the learning curve has really drawn me in. I have been experimenting with all methods! I was initially worried about loosing my fragrance (especially as I love citrus, which is fragile) to the chemical...
