    Sharon Johnson HP method?

She removed the video when she started to get mostly negative comments on YouTube. I have the video on my computer. Nuff said on all that. Jbot, that's the issue, the older soapmakers did things without videoing themselves - of course - this kind of malarkey just wasn't on the radar back...

    Sharon Johnson HP method?

Thank you for your good review of your thoughts on this method. You don't understand the 'viciousness' - it's because of her own words and actions. It's her insistence that it's her method - which is utter crap. Nothing she's done is anything new or revolutionary. It's her claim that she's...

    Sharon Johnson HP method?

Her minions will demand you prove that this is an old method. Because none of them have been soaping longer than a year, have learned everything they know from a Facebook group, and seem to be like little children who think life began when they did ;)

    Bastile soap experiment

I'm with DeeAnna on this one - it's a soap recipe fer sher, I wouldn't call it a bastile :)

HELP! Trying to formulate moisturizing Dog Shampoo Bar - Need help from a pro!!

Avocado oil is NOT toxic for dogs, here's one link on the subject, there are more. There's more danger of choking on the pit. Tea tree oil, undiluted, is dangerous for dogs and cats, however, diluted it is still used as a skin treatment on dogs. Research is the key, not scare mongering. From...

    Hot Process and Flash Points

Anchor with a good base note, yes. I don't know that ylang ylang is the best choice, that makes things race. I like to use cedarwood to anchor citrus scents. Or lemongrass.

    Hot Process and Flash Points

I know people insist flash points have nothing to do with it but I disagree. No, your scent isn't 'flashing' off. However, low flash point EOs seem not stand up well to hot process when added when the heat is full on. I always let mine cool to about 160° and that seems to help. Also you...

lye solution/concentration vs. water as % of oils

Perfect, thank you for tying the whole thing together, DeeAnna :)

lye solution/concentration vs. water as % of oils

Ok, I took that pdf from the first page to bed last night and I now grok what the reasons are and the differences are. What I can't wrap my head around are the calculations on page 4, the Formulas for DWCP, Calculating water for commonly used solutions. Where did the initial: lye weight x...

lye solution/concentration vs. water as % of oils

Trying to wrap my head around all of this and it's not clicking. I'll try to read it all again and comprehend.

Soap disaster - Brown GOO - happened to many recipes for some reason...

Man, those pictures rather turned my stomach - yes, that looks like an extremely bad case of DOS - didn't know it could spread like that. I would never store my soaps in a closed environment.

Mad Oils vs Bramble Berry Colorant Quality?

Amaranth Pink stopped my spin swirl in its tracks. I still love it, though. Now I know ;)

Mad Oils vs Bramble Berry Colorant Quality?

31 and 35 year old 'boys' here, no grandkids yet, but I do have a granddog ;) We're only as old as we feel, some days I feel 30. Others....well, we won't talk about it.

    Hanger swirl question

I think it's almost too thin to 'pull' the colored batter around, it just slices it. Teeny wisps is the best you'd get.

100% lard batch misbehaved? :( Need advice...

Interesting and yes, following, so I can see the answer re: what's on the tops. I use my own home rendered lard and have never, ever seen anything like that.
