    MP in CP?

Odd results froggy, or maybe I've just been lucky! I've not had any problems with dry and crumbly LS when used in CP for swirls and cutting wasn't a problem either.

Post you ugly soap pics here - Troubleshooting thread

What a shame, I love those colors!!! Beautiful soap :(

    MP in CP?

I've done it several times and yes, I'd suggest using a low sweat base to do it :) I've never tried it with anything other than LS, so I can't speak to how well that would work if you used regular M&P base.

    tallow vs. lard

Thanks for explaining the difference so well DeeAnna. Even soapcalc refers to Lard as "Pig Tallow"

What soapy thing have you done today?

Just put a new batch of shaving soap in the mold, anxious to get it cooled and cut in the morning :)

    tallow vs. lard

I would think since it's "Pig Tallow" you could also get away with labeling it as simply tallow - I know we call it lard, but in the end it's still a tallow.

Whats the thinnest youll cut soap?

My bars are 3.5 x 2.5 - either tall and skinny or wide and short, when I texture the tops they're a bit taller. I cut all mine to 1 1/8" thick. I couldn't imagine a soap smaller than 1" thick, it'd just seem sooooo small

The key to making low sweat mp

My last 3 test batches were just castor, co, and stearic - the stearic was at 30% with 1 part glycerin to 4 parts PG...we've had quite a bit of rain the last 2 days and I have bars stored in the bathroom....and I'm not seeing any sweating so far. The batch using aloe as the liquid isn't all...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I cleaned and organized my soaping supply shelves and just poured "FL Sunshine" into the mold...it's a Sweet Orange / Litsea EO blend with some M&P drizzles in the loaf and M&P orange wedge embeds on top. Next up is Bamboo Lotus!

The key to making low sweat mp

Same here Seven! It's gotten better later in the day but earlier we were having 90%+ humidity, it's cooler the last couple weeks so that's a plus, I'm curious to see how these all hold up once the temps go back up as well! Please keep me posted on how your experiments go, I love using M&P...

    1501 question

I answered you up further, you may not have seen it. When using that mold and soaping at a 33% lye solution, I use 29 oz of oils to fill that mold :)

The key to making low sweat mp

Right now I'm tinkering with a really basic recipe that uses more PG than Glycerin. I'm trying to keep the glycerin level down as much as possible to reduce sweating so we'll see. I did two batches today - one using aloe juice as the liquid the other using coconut milk, same exact oils, etc. I...
