    Regarding Soap Storage

I put mine in baseball card storage boxes once they're 4 weeks old. I also put a small packet of silica gel desiccant in the box with my soaps. I live in FL though where it's very humid 370 ;) days of the year! The silica gel is definitely not a must have, I just feel better tossing it in :)

    Tall & Skinny Mold!

I've been itching for a T&S and this coop was amazing...$18.95 per mold! I'm upset now that I didn't score more than 5 of them lol

    Tall & Skinny Mold!

I just got these T&S molds from a coop on FB, and I have to say I'm in love. They're super sturdy and the bars just look so nice from them :) I'm lacking in photography skills so excuse the crappy photos! Margarita Lime - with a M&P swirl Champagne Kisses - pink and yellow hanger swirl...

Ok here are the 3 soaps I did in my molds last night....I poured to a height of 3.5 inches and at cutting, each bar weighed in at roughly 5.5 oz, so not a bad size bar. Mind you, my cutter is set to cut 1 1/8" bars, not 1 inch, so they'll be slightly smaller if you cut at 1" Overall I'm really...

    Smooth looking Soap

Fantastic :) That's exactly what I have been wondering for months...does it work as well as the blade type planer and will it hold up over the long haul! My husband is not going to like you very much ;) Off to order the acrylic planer!! Wooot! lol Thank you :D

    Smooth looking Soap

I know there's not a blade on that planer, that's why I was asking if it did a good job even though it doesn't have a "real blade" :)

I've been looking hard at that planer Irish Lass - It works nicely even without a "blade"?

    Question on master batching lye

I make a simple syrup for my sugar, 1 cup sugar to 1 cup water, boil it till it's a thick syrup and store it in a jar after it cools some. I just add 1 TBSP PPO of my sugar syrup to my oils and bypass fiddling around with adding it to the lye completely.

    Question on master batching lye

I use soapmaker 3 - it does the calculations for me :D BUT if I were doing it by hand, I'd do it the same way IrishLass does :)

    Reading IS fundamental!

I feel your pain! I didn't soap with the wrong lye, but I did accidentally purchase 12lb of KOH rather than NaOH a few weeks ago due to "not reading" closely enough....that darn "hydroxide" word just sucked me right in and I read no more than that lol

I'm right there with ya being a Mo'ho lol My Jet T&S came in today, I just got home from work and have to be back at 6am, soooooo no pics or soap tonight, but I'll be soaping with them by 2pm tomorrow afternoon and will have pics tomorrow evening for sure. I asked WSP as well and got the...

Because of the issues with mold size they decided to postpone and refund the 2nd round of the coop until they have things sorted with the manufacturer on size. Originally the molds were said to be 2.5" wide, and it turned out they're 2.25" wide, this is an issue for some people so they're...

Ooops  I feel real bad about being a bad influence....BAHAHAHA! I'm fine with tools, I just HATE lining wooden molds, so if I can find silicone at a reasonable price in the sizes I want, then I'm going that direction lol Looks like my T&S molds from the first round of this coop will...

Exactly! In case you didn't see it yet...WSP is releasing a tall and skinny loaf as well. I think it's supposed to be live on site tomorrow? Dimensions aren't listed yet and there's no pic yet, but I've been stalking that site daily to see it as soon as it's live! Depending on the size, etc...

I saw that as well. I had wanted the 2.5" width, but I'm going to reserve judgement until I have them in hand and try them out. 1/4" doesn't seem like a big deal, but yet it is at times.

    New Mold - just poured!

Just cut it, not real happy with the muted colors. I was wanting something brighter...more mica needed next time :) but it SMELLS amazing!!!

    New Mold - just poured!

I grabbed one of the 12 bar molds from WSP last week just because I didn't all ready have one...and well, you know, I NEED to have just about every mold there is right? Anyway, it arrived in the mail yesterday so I had to soap tonight and give it a test drive! I was TRYING to do...
