    Attempt #1 Pine tar

Ahhhhhh! That is not good news lol will need to destress after making pine tar soaps. High stakes and nail biting. Will definitely soap as cool as I can get it for the next batch and pray. Thank you so much for this insight! I was concerned that I wouldn't get the oil/tar mixture incorporated...

    Attempt #1 Pine tar

Thank you for the advice to attempt some beautification. I have it wrapped in a heating pad along with some towels and aluminum foil. Will see if it gets gooey enough for that some chopstick maneuvers.

    Attempt #1 Pine tar

I'm kicking myself in the rear for soaping at that temp. So annoyed with myself for wanting to rush it. I knew it was a bad idea but severely underestimated how FAST it moved once the pine tar mixture was added. I used 10% pine tar for the recipe, which was 3.5 oz. Used 1 oz of orange 10x eo...

    Attempt #1 Pine tar

First attempt at making pine tar soap. Absolutely a I did the method of splitting the oils, mixing the pine tar into one half of split oils, then added my eo/fo to. Second half of oils I mixed the lye solution into, brought to emulsion, then mixed in by hand 2 tbsps of achivated charcoal. Was...

    Fresh cut grass

Give it a whirl :) I had a lot of fun trying to recreate it. And liked choosing the color combination.

    Fresh cut grass

Yeah, I still struggle with getting the right consistency, usually too thin or so thick all I can do is spoon it in.

    Lemons anyone

You can see a hint of the swirl happening on the side of the one bar. Very pretty.

    Fresh cut grass

Thank you! I knew I should have waited to pour until it thickened more but I got impatient. Todd, pouring too thin or how its cut?

    Fresh cut grass

I wanted to post this pic of this batch of soap for the attempted technique. Has anyone else tried it this way? I used fresh cut grass from nature's garden. With a homemade wood loaf mold and brambleberrys multi pour tool dividers. I did four colors instead of 3 like in the video but same...

    Tweak this?

Thank you for the suggestions. Will have to try with the adjustments you suggested and will give the 80% lard a go. Lard is the easiest and cheapest oil for me to get my hands on. Assuming you do a 2 to 5 superfat with that recipe too?

    Tweak this?

I've tried quite a few recipes, by no means as many as you others have tried I'm sure, but so far I like this one the most. It makes a stable, creamy, dense medium bubbles lather. I haven't tried it with sodium lactate or the sodium citrate additives yet but hopefully improves lather and easier...

I used brambleberry's fragrance calculator. This one was their wild rose fo. Maybe I am misunderstanding how the calculator works but this is what I inputed

I knew I shouldn't have cut it yet. They sides of the loaf were a bit tacky. For maturing a soap loaf, do you just leave it in the mold or unwrap it and let it sit out? The top of the soap wasn't sticky at all but when I peeled back the freezer paper from this sides I definitely contemplated...

It's not sticky after having time to sit for a day after slicing. Since I've been try different recipe combos, this is the first one to be that sticky for the cut.

If you don't mind suggesting, what should I adjust to get it there? I'll have to try this. From what I have read some people don't even notice when there is castor oil in a soap bar or not. Will try the 5 percent. Absolutely suffering from this. I've just started making soaps this January and...

This is the recipe I used. At 33% lye concentration. I did add I think about 13 grams of sodium citrate to the distilled water and let it dissolve, then my lye was added along with tussah silk. When the lye solution cooled down I stirred in 2 tsp of sodium lactate. I used 3 oz of BB wild rose...

Milk Soap - When to unfridge it?

So another update on the sliced soap. Took a look at the bars and have noticed some of them have developed these tiny little oily dots on the sides of them. The front and back of the bar doesn't have that though. Not all of the bars have the oily baby spots though. Its kinda hard to see but...

Milk Soap - When to unfridge it?

Thank you for including some shopping links for online. I purchased some from one of the links you posted. Where I am located most of the stores around here have limited paper supplies than normal. A lot of things are out of stock. I had to place a order online for laundry detergent a few weeks...

Milk Soap - When to unfridge it?

Good to know. I prefer the soap to gel since it makes it harder to cut but was concerned over scorching. Mine came out yellow, sure the coffee FO plays a part. I think the next milk one I am going to make I'm going to try your method shunt and see how it turns out. Will post a picture of the...
