I prefer less salt in my bar. To me, it seems like a bar with less salt will have more lather sooner, is creamier, and is less likely to crumble. But, I still haven't compared a high salt bar to a lower salt bar at a year to see the differences there.

Hello! You do not need a preservative with bar soap. I suspect that may be the causing some of the oily issues you are experiencing. Sugar of any type adds to your bubbles and lather. You don't have to add it, but I personally think it does make a nice addition.

Congrats! As the lotion cools, it will start to clump here and there, but once the batch is cooled, it should all be the same consistency. You really don't need to SB for long. You'll have to let us know how you like it!
