3D Printer for Soap Moulds and Cutters

Yes. Can make holes and/or have one end be removable, but requires more precision modeling, so more cost. Mylar? As lining?

3D Printer for Soap Moulds and Cutters

Pretty much. It will be either PLA or ABS. PLA is more common and predictable in my experience.

No. I can't imagine what people are charging for that. That is all over the place as well. There are those who charge by quarter-hours and those who charge for a minimum hour, etc. I probably would have charged $7.5 for that model though it only took me 5 min. So, I would charge at 15min-minimum...

    Totally natural soaps

Kim, No aroma at all with either juice, but a lovely orange colour indeed. Colour held. EDIT: I used PINK grapefruit juice. I have not tried the clear juice.

The walls and bottom are a thickness of a centimeter. The prints are pretty solid and I believe would definitely hold. If I double the thickness to 2cm, the cost would be around $18. Again, that is about what I’d charge.

Madison, You want a sturdy mould. Will you be putting freezer paper or latex liner into it? Please remember that there are other factors involved as the to price. Will you be creating the digital model for the mould to give to me to print or am I going to design it? That is an additional cost...

    Transparent Soap Adventures

Hi. It's been fun experimenting and I have a few more twists coming. :-) I don't feel it's difficult, but it really boils down to taking that first step and finding out that making transparent soap really isn't that complicated. ;)

    True 'Wine' (Transparent) Soap Tests

Suzy, Been there, done that and I completely agree. :-) My first wine test involved mixing the wine with the lye and it turned out lovely in terms of colour, but the residual fragrance, or should I say, 'odor', was not so great. My recent tests have been much more pleasant aromatically.

    True 'Wine' (Transparent) Soap Tests

It has been 3 days and the small sample test of wine soap has definitely retained its wine aroma. Not strong, but clearly present. I placed the small bar into a ziplock bag for a few hours and came back to it greeted by the aroma once opened. Does anyone know of very dry red, strongly aromatic...

    Transparent Soap Adventures

After a few days of curing, the newly modified transparent soap recipe is a rockin'! With the decrease in glycerine, the soap certainly seems to hold up firmer overall, but especially in the shower when often exposed to water.

    Totally natural soaps

I have successfully used orange and grapefruit juice to create lovely orange bars. Annato. I also tried coffee and while it doe impart a brown color, it does fade to a lighter color over time.

3D Printer for Soap Moulds and Cutters

Madison. I was mistaken. I have been watching too many soap making videos. I saw the stainless steel cutter not from a video, but a post here on Soapmakingforum. https://www.soapmakingforum.com/threads/soap-cutter.71681/#post-722201 Sorry.

Making Hard Soap with Potassium Hydroxide (KOH)

I decided to do something with the soap that isn't going to harden. Cut into small cubes and placed in a dispenser, warm water and voila! Liquid soap. :-) I believe that is the point of soap paste???

Making Hard Soap with Potassium Hydroxide (KOH)

Hi. Yes! Salt is the 'secret' ingredient! I have found that 1/2-tsp per pound is way too little to create stiff bars. It could also be that my concentration of potash or KOH is lower so that would explain the larger amounts I use to create the hard bars I make. I'm not re-inventing the wheel...
