    Feedback needed please

I agree with most of the above, but I would make the lye at 30%.

    SoapCalc Windows 10

I downloaded Windows 10 months ago but did not open or run it yet...decades of experience with these upgrades have taught me to wait until they work the bugs out. Glad I did, thanks for the heads up!

The hows and whys of changing the lye concentration of your soap

I read this very interesting article on why the standard value for lye on soapcalc is not the best for most soaps and why it was put there to start with. The table below is a summary...I recommend reading the article. English is obviously not his first language with some of the typos but I...

The Worst Salt Bar in the World

I've had my 90% CO salt curing since August...can't wait to try them out, it was my first attempt and I'm curious.

    Browsing soap pics

The woman that made these did a tutorial (not a video unfortunately) and I didn't realize you could make the wrapping by just pouring a very thin layer in a slab mold...duh! I was thinking you had to slice it off a a large piece from the slab...

    Extracts

The expense and work involved is rarely worth it IMHO...do a youtube search and see if it's something you really want to do...tons of herb and tons of time for a very small amount of EO. I love infusing herbs and have been doing it for decades...mostly for herbal medicine and balms.

What would happen if we saw this today?

The person that found this ad states her husband who collects old publications found it. The expressions are typical british, so I don't think it ever hit US soil but I do believe it is for real.

Sister making converts at her office

I always have some simple calendula lip balm in my purse, so my office manager comes in complaining about a skin tear that she got on the top of her hand helping her husband with a chore. So I put some calendula on it...I was off the next day and she sends me a photo of the wound, nearly...

My 2 1/2 year old soap maker!

Thank you! More recently he has been browsing soap pics with me and on a few he says "Wow!"...this past Friday, he got a hold of my phone, went to the photo section, found some pics of my soaps and showed his father...it's scary that he can operate my phone better than I can...

SMF Soap Making Challenge October: Hidden Feather Swirl

No, I don't think so...having said that you couldn't tell that I used 4 colors and 3 repeats....mold issue, pour issue, color issue? I have no idea...back to the drawing board...

SMF Soap Making Challenge October: Hidden Feather Swirl

Believe it or not there are four colors and they were used three times...the grey background was a dud. I used blue, black, brown and a darker grey. I'm gonna rethink the whole thing...maybe a white background would help or maybe just change the colors...in either case I'm waiting for my new...

What soapy thing have you done today?

A sheer case of soaping paranoia...after having an acceleration problem with my one nieces loaf...she wanted colors of a sunflower and I used BC's new sunflower FO...never again...so for my other niece I got paranoid because I have never combined rosemary EO with lemongrass and the exact...

    Nurture Soap package

Tried the vibrance mica's from nurture yesterday. My niece loves sunflowers and asked for a soap with the colors of sunflowers. I added BC sunflower FO...it was new...bad idea...accelerated really fast and I was spooning instead of pouring...but the loaf came out okay and I really like the...

What soapy mistake have you made today?

Same happened to my loaf and it came out much better than I expected...so ya never know. I also CPOPed my loaf hoping that the heat would help prevent air bubbles (does that even make sense?) and I wanted to see the difference with the colors. I loved the fact that I could unmold and cut it in...
