Tutorial on how to correctly change the wires on "The Tank"?

Hi, just wondering if someone knows of a tutorial on how to change the wires on the Commercial Quick Cutter a.k.a. "The Tank". We have been trying to replace some broken wires but they are not staying tight.

About Fragrance Oils - What's in Them?

I don't know how much you make at a time but I stick to .5 oz per lb of oils. It also helps to anchor the EOs in some kaolin clay. This also helps FOs. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Soap Making mobile app

About Fragrance Oils - What's in Them?

What essential oils have you tried? I have far fewer issues with EOs than FOs. In my experience FOs have a tendency to accelerate trace.

    Disney scents

Good question. A Dole Whip soap would be incredible. Maybe a pineapple fo blended with a little vanilla fo. I was trying to think of others but only came up with stuff like popcorn and mint juleps. Do you ever go to Disneyland? We are in So. Cal and have annual passes for DL. We go several...

Pine tar with lake of oil? What I do wrong?

I didn't like the aesthetics of my first attempt at pine tar so I tried a second time with hot process. The HP was a lot easier, it didn't seize and the resulting bars look rustic but in a good way. I mixed the PT in with my oils and melted it all together in my crockpot before adding the lye. I...

You get what you pay for!

I was just telling someone this same thing. I have 5 kinds of natural lavender blends and 1 fragrance oil lavender. A woman came into my booth and smelled every soap in my booth. She told her friend that the FO soap was the only soap that actually smelled like lavender (to me it smells like...

    Thoughts on Soap Maker Software

Quickbooks will allow you to make invoices, track expenses, purchase orders, sales accounts and more. It allows a little more user flexibility than the SMS. The only thing I really like about the SMS is that it calculates your cost per bar/batch but you can get that with a formatted excel...

Gah! First separation but its solid too.

You can add the oils back and throw it into the crock pot. You will end up with brown soap though.

    Specific soaps vs. general soaps

I started selling at 2 markets in May but I would love some advice from the long time experts. I currently have separate scrubby soaps for gardeners, mechanics and chefs. I don't really sell a lot of of them and rarely will someone purchase one for themselves. It is usually, "My son is a...

Soaps and all the extra additives...

I always had the same question and it never clicked with me until I started making lotions. With limited resources, it made more sense to use hemp and mango butters in my lotions instead of the soap. I will admit that my soap base does have avocado oil and shea butter because I like the feel...
