    Organic mct oil at Costco

It looks like Costco is a pretty good deal. Shipping with BA is up there.

    Organic mct oil at Costco

Found this in my Costco. It’s an Oregon based co and I’m in Oregon so I don’t know if this is just a regional item.

    Real Butters vs "Fake" Butters

I’ve had to pass on several of these “blended butters” because a lot of them contain almond oil which is an allergen for family and friends . I did use brambleberry avo butter when I first started but I prefer avo oil now. I think it’s just an upselling trick.

I used it to mix up some soapy sugar scrubs!

    Milk powders

Just an FYI coconut milk powders frequently have dairy milk by products like casseine in them. I’m allergic to dairy so this is a huge source of frustration for me. I’m allergic to casseine and whey proteins. Sneaky food manufacturers have caused me considerable pain and suffering. I just use...

    Avocado oil cure time?

I started using 2:1 at room temp and have been able to get some good swirls. 2.25 on water is almost too much for me.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I ordered them from Ali Express. Just search silicone stone molds. They are pretty floppy but pretty affordable.

    Avocado oil cure time?

What’s your water:lye ratio? I do think that different oils make a difference in unmolding time but you may be able to cut that time down by reducing your liquids.

    Mini Drop Swirl

Not a dumb question. You can kind of see where you laid down your most recent drop line and go immediately over that line on the next pass. As the soap sets up with each consecutive pass each layer of drop line sits a little higher until you are laying down lines sitting on top of the last ones...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I’m so happy with these. I tried the Clyde Slide pour method (YouTube) for the first time. Fragrance is Brambleberries cinnamon cocoa. These are soleseife using more of my collected sea water from the last full/blood moon in January.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I don’t gel either but I just got a real red mica from nurture soaps and in order to get real red you apparently have to gel.

    Mini Drop Swirl

You are kind of flying blind as to position. That makes unmolding and cutting super exciting.

    Mini Drop Swirl

I just put the recipe I wrote above into Soapmaker's Friend. I wanted to play around on it. It should be public. It is listed as Carolyne's Slow Moving Swirl Recipe. Feel free to use it!

    Glasses are such a pain.

    Mini Drop Swirl

These are my 1st attempts ever. I clipped the pipettes so their opening was bigger because I was afraid of the batter getting to thick to get out. I’ll have to try it next with the narrower opening.
