making washing soda from baking soda/homemade laundry detergent, Wild fires in the US

First, I'm not personally in any danger. But I live in the Willamette Valley of Oregon in the US 25 miles from a nasty wild fire. Our air quality has been rated hazardous for 4 (I think) days now. We are trying to avoid going outside. I usually use 1 part washing soda and 1 part borax to wash my...

    Not soap

I keep threatening my husband with my getting a dwarf goat. Problem: I live in city limits. Your pictures aren't helping much. LOL! They are just so stinking cute.

    30% Off all Fragrance Oils

I needed to restock Lemongrass & Green Tea. That meant I needed to make sure I bought enough other oils to try to get the free shipping. Man that's such a bummer. ;) FYI my favorite WSP fragrances are pink grapefruit 97, Meyer lemon, lemongrass & green tea, and oatmeal and honey 660.

homemade distilled water not worth it?

Hasn't been available in any stores here since our shelter-in-place order. Still no TP either. :(

homemade distilled water not worth it?

I have a juice steamer that can be used to make distilled water. It's a really cook gadget that I use to make Concord grape juice. Anyway, after 2 hours I have concluded that it probably is costing me too much in electricity to be worth it. I might have gotten a liter in 2 hours. So once I've...

    Body Oil

We have our body butter formula down pretty good and it's a good seller. I have a face serum that sells really well. My shampoo bars sold out and I'm on round 2 of those. Still need to work on conditioner bar and a clarifying shampoo bar. My husband made "massage oils" last year and they were...

    Record keeping and notations

I printout a recipe every time I make a batch soap. Even if it is an exact duplicate. I file my paper recipes in a 3 ring binder, separated by months. Each soap gets a batch number which goes on my labels. The batch number is year month day and in case I've made more than one batch that day...

    Rice Bran Oil

I prefer rice bran oil over OO. I buy mine from Shay and Company in Oregon, USA. It’s within driving distance so I don’t pay shipping. They supply restaurants too and I feel like there stuff is fresh.

What sounds better on the label?

Artisan works in my area and with my branding. If you’re selling, your market should determine it. Also there’s a lot of “handmade” soap out there already.

    Coronavirus

I've had migraines for 30 years and I know exactly what my trigger is. I remember the exact first migraine I had. It was at 4 am the morning after I took the first placebo pill in the old school packet of birth control pills (you know the kind that had the higher amounts of hormones). I woke up...

    Coronavirus

I haven't been around much because I'm having a horrible time with migraines and I'm trying medications but they just aren't working so I've been pretty much living in a state of if it isn't 100% necessary it isn't getting done. I seem to be getting a reprieve. I really miss you guys; and I...
