    Cleaning wooden molds?

Mine have a silicone liner, but how do you clean the dribbles etc off of your wooden mold? I'm concerned that scrubbing with soap and water will warp the wood over time?

    Curing soap in glassine bag?

I got a box of glassine bags from my local restaurant supply store. I'm wondering if I can put my fresh-cut soap directly in these bags to let them cure? I have pets and keeping pet hair off the soap is a challenge!

    Need help blending stinky FO

I love rice flower and shea! IMO - make it as is, and then use it for Christmas. Lime and mint are some of my blending go-to scents when I want to lighten something up, and Bay Rum when I want to darken something.

Your experiences trying FO's that smell awful OOB?

If i absolutely hate it OOB, I don't soap it. Just because it's not fun for me. If I'm kind of "meh" about it, I might still soap it b/c odds are SOMEONE will love it.

Cannot get soap to stop cracking, no matter what I do.

Try raising your mold so air can move under it, like a block under each corner. If you are feeling frisky, put some bricks in the freezer overnight, and then rest the mold on top of the cold bricks. You could also try making an icepack, and putting it in a cooler and putting the soap in the...

    Coffee Fragrance Query

Recipe? And a link to the FO? Are you sure it is soap safe? Is it from a soap-specific supplier. I've stopped buying FOs from vendors focusing on candles, just bc I had too many duds. I buy from vendors who focus on soap and B&B products.

    Wood Bars

It can be for some people, but IMO that's no reason to never use it. I make sure to label all of my soap that contains spices clearly on the front. Like Christmas Spice - contains ground cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. Something like that. My aunt has very sensitive skin and yet 0 problem with...

    Hair soap and acne

Have you tried a shampoo such as Selsen blue that is meant for dandruff? It can also help with acne. also, consider Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle repair. That's what has finally helped my adult acne! Frustrating that it isn't in the acne section. Salicylic doesn't do much for me, but saliclylic...

Having trouble with vegan palm free recipe

Have you tried hot process? Add a bit of sodium lactate - hopefully an expert will chime in with how much - to keep it fluid. There's a reason that lard is (IMO) queen of the soapmaking oils. It is unique in that it makes a slower tracing batch yet makes a hard bar. Both palm and tallow (not...

    changing soap bases in recipe

Yes, you could substitute any MP soap base for the Argan Oil soap base. Can you post a link to the soap base itself? If you have short hair it's not a big deal, but if you have medium or long hair I strongly advise you not to use soap as shampoo. Maybe look at a base that is specifically...

I just list colorant. My understanding is that I am not required too. If I use clay, I list clay.

Taking too long to come to trace....and broke my stick blender

When you stir, use short bursts of say 30 seconds. Then stir with the wand for 5-10 seconds, then another short burst. Also, you can put on the pot back on the stove with low heat get the reaction moving along. This is why I soap in a pot vs a plastic bucket - I like having the option to put it...
