Hi Estintre, I've (successfully) made a few emulsions and have used Preservative K from Aromantic.co.uk. It's about £4 for 30ml +£4 delivery. It's only drawback is the final emulsion has to be below 5 ph, but I've never had a problem. I also use BTMS 25 as my emulsifier with cetearyl alcohol.

I make a beeswax and honey soap, I heat the honey with the beeswax in a pot in a pan of boiling water the add it to the hot oils. Never had any problems. Just got to watch while it's gelling and get ready to put in the fridge .... it gets hot!!

Made some mold liners out of PTFE oven liners as recommended by AliOop, worked perfectly, no leaks and re-useable! Never going back to cutting grease proof paper linings again :)

I just use the finely cut orange peel, no white pithe. Maybe try a different type of orange?

You have to oven dry the peel long and slow, 100 degrees C for a couple of hours, then I grind them to a fine powder in a spice grinder, cost about £10. I keep the powder in a sealed jar. Leave for a while and then have a sniff .... gorgeous!!

Room temp here too, unless I'm using beeswax, then use lye and oils warm.

I dry mine in the oven and then grind. I did find a bit of mold on one soap, but it did have a lot on! seems ok if used sparingly.

I make my own orange peel powder using organic oranges (from Lidl :)!) and use it in my Sweet Orange and Lime soap. I add some to the turmeric infused oil and also sprinkle on top. Smells gorgeous!

I whipped mine up with a hand blender, does a pretty good job of it and up to now, no separation problems. :)

One of the strange things about it is, I grind it down to a powder, add to oil (sweet almond oil), heat to about 60 degrees C, leave to cool and settle, and the oil turns into a gel. Not that it causes a problem, I just add it to the melted oils.
