What do I need to start selling safely 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you are selling in any way your soap must be assessed by a cosmetic assessor. It is a legal requirement. You should have insurance but it would be invalid if you are breaking the law. Assessment costs from £100-£500 depending on how many variants you get assessed. The warning labels you...

Where to buy candle wax in the UK?

Oh just wait till you start trying buying fragrance, that's a rabbit hole we all fall in and yep it gets expensive! IKEA use a blend I think - cheap yes but imo rubbish candles.

    Paraffin or Soy Wax

I too originally fell for this until I did more research. Soy is marketed as cleaner and greener and it's just not true, Both are highly processed, one is an agricultural crop and one is a byproduct of the petrochemical industry. It's worth noting that almost all of the big name candle...

Where to buy candle wax in the UK?

There are loads if wax suppliers in the uk but depends on what wax you want. If you google uk wax suppliers you will get loads. But yep those prices seem correct, expect to pay up to £5 a kilo for small quantities.

    Coronavirus

Yes that's what we've had here, its not designed to stop the virus getting to you, its meant to stop YOU sharing your germs with others.

    Coronavirus

I had to take my son to the hospital for treatment today and no I didnt wear a mask. I bought some visors a few weeks back and I managed one of those for a short period whilst we waited but it was far from pleasant. I completely take the "wear a mask" argument but not going out is not an option...

    Coronavirus

I have asthma. I cant wear a mask even if I wanted to. Please don't assume that it's something we can all do if we tried - if I am forced to wear one first thing that will happen is I will vomit. Followed within a couple of minutes by a full blown asthma attack which is enough to need an...

Is there a way of getting this specific design in a loaf of soap?

If you look at I dream in Soap on YouTube she does some designs similar to this using stencils etc that might work.

    Ethical micas in Britain?

You can try The Soapery, UMakeitup, Mica Moma.. They are the ones I've used or been recommended, no idea on their ethics but I thought they were lab created too.

    can i get some thoughts!

Yep @jcandleattic is correct. In the uk your recipe needs to approved by a cosmetic safety assessor before you can sell and any changes to said recipe would mean the recipe should be reassessed. All of which has to be done before a product is offered for sale.

    can i get some thoughts!

Not sure if thats a lemon embed on the top of one but if it is you might need to check out the food imitation regs as well as the cosmetic assessment requirements. It's not an easy business these days and a very crowded one so don't expect huge sales to start with. Good luck!

    Coronavirus

I hate how politicised wearing a mask has become. Quite simply I cant wear one. If I was forced to put one on, I would either vomit within about 2 minutes or have an asthma attack but all people see is me without a mask and assume I am making some of selfish point. In the uk it's been bad but...

    Coronavirus

Thank you for this. In the uk, we see so much huff and puff about the US and it's hard to see where the truth truly lies, which is kinda why I started this thread. I wondered how bad it was for some of us what the reality was opposed to news or SM. I am so sorry it's got so bad so fast, I hope...

Newbie to the world of CP soap making - Help needed :)

Just occured to me, if you do consider lemon slice embeds, please check the Food Imitations regs as there are some strict rules on products that look like food.

CPSR (UK) and additives... newbie very confused

Gosh that's horrendous they used to only take a week - had one done once where I had a rush job, back in 24 hours! Good luck!

CPSR (UK) and additives... newbie very confused

I think SK CPSR are produced by Cosmetic Safety Assessments and I was told the other day that some of their assessments are taking 4-6 weeks, hopefully you get yours before then. It prob depends on staffing levels so who knows right now! 🙂

    Help with bath bombs

Sorry I misunderstood. Have a look on Edens Secret on YouTube she gives her bath bomb recipe. Regarding the embed and CPSR, it will depend if the have a separate fragrance I think.
