You can't compare the two like for like, they are very different products and have very different appeal. You don't really need fancy oils to create a good soap but its not something that's cheap either. You need to factor in oils, lye, water, fragrance, colour, your time as well as overheads...

Regardless of IFRA levels, CPSR are really strict on fragrance levels and there is no way we could use 6% in the UK - depending on the products and the allergens its generally between 1-3%. For some FO and EO it can be less than 1 %

As its a leave on product the max usage in the UK is 1% but much less for some ingredients.

I prefer the cleanup with soy, like the soft, muted colours plus I can use it in my soap - saves buying extra ingredients!

Not sure what the regs state in Aus but as far as I know, in the uk you need to have a use by date shown on all products. Hopefully one if the other Australian soapers will chip in shortly to advise more local regs.
