    Water discount in GM soap?

I'm not an expert, but when I do goat milk, I use the full water amount, but split it between water and goat milk. So I might 1.4X lye for the water amount, and mix the lye with water. Then I add the remaining liquid as goat milk at trace when I add FOs and colorants.

How many molds do *you* have?

I have 2 silicone log molds from Brambleberry, the 10" one, and the 4" one. I use the 10" one the most. I also have 3 individual silicone molds. One moon cake one I bought off Amazon (super cute, a little small), and a flower and a heart one from Michaels. And I have these small plastic...

    Lip Balm Formula

I personally love lip balms that is more on the soft and moisturizing side, and less on the beeswax side. I keep mine in my purse so don't have melting issues.

Do you "hate" any oil in particular?

I don't "hate" any oils yet, I'm still a newbie. I've only used lard, tallow, olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, and castor oil so far. So far I don't like things too squeaky clean, so definitely like lard, tallow and olive the best.

Need the most gentle soap recipe ever

How about a lotion bar? I use one right now that is so nourishing. I think it has tallow, cocoa butter, beeswax, and maybe olive oil? For soap, you could try 50% tallow, 50% olive, 10-15% superfat, no scent or color.

    Oh no.. Shimmer lotion?

If you do a lotion bar you probably don't have to buy any extra ingredients like emulsifiers or preservatives. I've made lotion bars, I think I used a recipe from Wellness Mama and I love it.

    Hi from Zürich!

Welcome to our group! I've been to Zurich, and vacation for 2.5 weeks throughout Switzerland. Beautiful place! And definitely post some pictures, and your recipe. Did it look like a circle, and the circle is darker than the outside. If it is, then it's what's called partial gel. If not, you...

Okay, I'll look into making a facial serum. I definitely use those, but have never made one.

What to do with argan oil and glycerin

I tried putting argan oil into my hair this weekend. It was super sticky, like castor oil. It made my hair super greasy. So I'm thinking it should be mixed with some other oils for some sort of hair serum. I've never tried making liquid soap, so I can look into that.

What to do with argan oil and glycerin

Hi. In my Essentials Depot sampler back, I received argan oil and glycerin. What can you do with these? I mainly make cold process soap, and I've just started making lotion bars and lip balm. I'm open to making new items with these two things.

    Dos

It could be the olive oil. Google soap queen olive oil. You can see a big difference between the different brands. Also somewhere there's a listing of which brands of olive oil have other oils mixed in.

What soapy mistake have you made today?

Well I had my first seized and cracked soap last night! Made 100% coconut oil superfat 20% soap last night. Was taking forever to trace, so like I do with 100% lard, I just leave it for a few minutes. I went to brush my teeth, and when I came back, it was pretty much a solid lump. I put it into...

    Lye Vendor Comparisons?

I've only used the Brambleberry lye so far. The flakes are white, and there are large flakes, plus some powder. Sometimes, when I pour, I get a bit of powder dusting up, but other times, it's only large flakes. It dissolves well. I just ordered some from Essentials Depot, we'll see how that goes.
