    Gardening Anyone?

    We've been really lucky with mild weather in the Houston area. And my happy/sad news is I was able to get my hands on an avocado tree before they sold out for the season! I go out on my work-from-home breaks and admire it. It's the little things, ain't it!

    First soap recipe, what do you think?

    I started with Anne L. Watson formulae. It was the best start I could have ever asked for. I've found that 8% castor oil is perfect for most soap, and I can go up to 10% if I add clay.

    I just tried thinning out a lotion I've made at 70% h2o(with dissolved Epsom salt), 20% oil (10%shea, 45%avocado, 45%rbo), and 10% emulsifiers (60%ewax, 40%stearic). This lotion feels a bit heavy but is absorbed nicely. I increased my h2o to 72% and lowered my emul.s to 8% and it definitely...
