Thank your u! Now they track down ingredients! So far, no one shop has everything I need for both conditioner and shampoo bars—I’m looking at humblebee &me French green clay shampoo bar. And the more Mango.

The most basic-est conditioner recipe possible?

AliOop, I use Queen of Hungary Water instead of plain ACV which leaves an herby floral scent in its wake. Any recommendations for a scale? My only goes down to 1gm. I guess I could increase the recipe.

The most basic-est conditioner recipe possible?

As for the vinegar recommendation, I can agree that it works very, very well. Unfortunately, people with sensitive sniffers can still smell it in your hair even after it has dried, unless you have another scent to cover it. Ask me how I know. ;-) AliOop, I use Queen of Hungary Water instead of...

The most basic-est conditioner recipe possible?

Hi Violets, Kokum butter sounds excellent. My youngest daughter has hair similar to your daughter‘s (based on a photo you posted) but probably most like yours. I‘m hoping to come up with some recipes to replace store bought in an attempt to reduce packaging and overwhelming fragrances. Thank you!

The most basic-est conditioner recipe possible?

I’ve looked at several of her recipes and am trying to sort through to try to figure out which one might work for me. I am still sorting out what the ingredients are, their actions, benefits and drawbacks.

I’m with you on coconut oil! I thought it was just me. I’m still searching for recipes for both a shampoo bar and a conditioner bar for long curly dry hair. Can’t use SLS.

    FO suitable for laundry?

Agreed! Whatever did people do before electric/gas dryers? While I use my clothesline most of the time, I would be miserable (and wear grubber clothes) without my modern dryer!

    Hello Soap Guru :)

Hello AliOop! I just found this thread and wondered at what stage you add the neem oil? I made a HP soap two days ago with neem oil, but I'm pretty sure I added it too soon. Also, I used fresh filleted aloe vera blended with distilled water according to your advice that I read last week (and now...

    FO suitable for laundry?

When I lived in high humidity places--Texas, Mississippi, Ohio, I think I just whimpered pathetically until things changed:p

    FO suitable for laundry?

I've had good luck adding a few drops of essential oil to my wool dryer balls after using plain vinegar in the rinse cycle. I tried adding EO to the vinegar in a separate labeled bottle, but the fragrance didn't seem to last. I have recently read that EO's are not soluble in vinegar or...

Where does everyone cure their soap??

That’s so adorable that you say you get lots of rain just three seasons of the year and summer is just humid! Heehee! I sure do miss living in Eugene. At least I get to visit my son in Portland! I miss the PNW all the time, living in the desert.

Is it impolite to apply to a farmer's market that already has a soap seller?

My parents retired to Stanwood, WA in the 1990's... not far from the Chihuly Studio

Is it impolite to apply to a farmer's market that already has a soap seller?

Right! And next time I am in Bothell (October!!!!), I will drop by your booth! There are so many reasons that I am now absolutely no competition to anyone selling soap (or anything else). I am very happy to support others brave enough to deal with the issues/obstacles . Sign me, Grateful to be...

Is it impolite to apply to a farmer's market that already has a soap seller?

Many years ago I thought to sell soap at my local farmers' market and spoke with organizer. She was very clear that one soap seller was all that was needed. (I live in a small town with all the politics.) The moral of the story is: go ahead and apply clearly describing your niche and let the...

    Post your Gripe

Earleen’s information is spot on! You might try just water and exercise to see if that is enough intervention before trying compression garments— or skip compression during exercise only. Stupid life challenges! What you are going through must be super frustrating. I’ll bet you will figure out!

What soapy thing have you done today?

I think we are related! Strained lavender infused olive oil, made helichrysum hydrosol for soap and skin cream heading outside to clean up the soap kitchen—-must make blackberry ice cream since there aren’t enough for jam….wait! June Challenge? I’m off to look that up!
