Has anybody moved to a different state with their essential oils?

Last time I moved to the US (from Canada) the moving company said that nothing flammable was allowed on the truck, and that included essential oils. I wonder if anybody was told the same thing when hiring movers in the US wand moving across states? I'm not talking about an adjacent state but...

Has anyone used resveratrol in powder or liquid form in face cream?

I've had a small sample of the powder, which I've used in a few serum batches I've made for myself. I didn't notice a big enough difference to repurchase it (it's so expensive!), but now that i look back on my notes it looks like i was just adding it to the cooldown phase as-is, when I should've...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

I made my own "bum bum cream". Caffeine extract, IPM, hydrolozed oats, panthenol, vit E. The oils are a mix of cupuacu, safflower, and cocoa butter. It's scented with Scent memory's Black plum & creme de cassis, so it smells darn close to the store bought ones. I poured it into this nice TJs...

    Body Butter Recipe

"body butter" can mean a lot of different things to different people, but there are generally 2 types - anhydrous and emulsified. Anhydrous means it doesn't have water. Emulsified means you mix oils and water. A good rule of thumb is to add preservative to anything that has water. I recommend...

Is there an app like Soapcalc for body, face and hair creams and oils?

This is soooo interesting!!! Way too complex for me but I'm always curious about how others keep track of their recipes. This is like spreadhseets on steroids!

    Face Scrub Recipe Help

I didn't read the entire thread and only skimmed some parts, so sorry if I'm repeating what others suggested but here are some thoughts. I wouldn't use coffee grounds on my face (even find espresso grind) because it will still cause micro scratches on the skin that can exacerbate acne. I'm...

Is there an app like Soapcalc for body, face and hair creams and oils?

Oh i see.. yeah i started to keep a list of my ingredients in a spreadsheet with - whether it should be added in oil / water / cooldown phase - recommended usage % - ph range in can handle - short note about its properties It was annoying to have to key them in but i only had to do it once. I...

Is there an app like Soapcalc for body, face and hair creams and oils?

Just curious, what would you need to calculate for lotions? Are you using custom emulsifier combos that require you to calculate the HLB?

    Talsen Chemicals

I'm in the market for some tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (oil-soluble vit C) since watching that latest Shereene Ideiss video, but unfortunately they don't have it. Good to know there's some alternative to lotioncrafter though, I'd be curious to know if others order from there.

    First attempt at liquid CP

Great tips!!! I haven't tried mixing scent with PS80 yet cause i wasn't sure it was compatible with non-synthetic liquid soap. I'm excited to learn that it does!

    First attempt at liquid CP

It turned out fine but I forgot to decrease the superfat to <1%.. Oops. At first when I added the diluted soap to my foam pump, I gave it a good shake, and it wouldn't foam super well. Then it dawned on me that I had to wait for the extra oil to float to the top. No issues after waiting a bit.

I'll try that, thanks for explaining!

    First attempt at liquid CP

Yep I had like 20% OO, 25% safflower, and 15% castor! But my Cuisinart stickblender held up like a champ, I'm very impressed. Do you have to do anything special with the glycerine to dissolve it? I saw a tutorial that was adding the lye to the glycerine and boiling it on the stove to dissolve...

    First attempt at liquid CP

I usually cook my liquid soap in the oven until it gels, but this time I decided to just CP it. The instructions were all TLDR until i found this one post on here that said to just mix it up and leave it, which is as simple as I had suspected. The problem was that i let my oils cool down too...

    Candle Science's Red Currant discontinued

Glad it helped a bit :) I'm thinking about trying that red currant myself, it sounds delicious. I'm also curious if there would be a difference between the scent memory and sweet cakes interpretation. Let us know if you end up ordering from both! I've only ordered a few samples from Scent memory...

    Candle Science's Red Currant discontinued

I don't know much about this, but one of the reviewers of your fragrance said it's the best replication of a high end red currant candle. So looked it up and I'm guessing they're referring to the Votivo red currant. If so then scent memory could have something similar...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

Last week i decided to improve my body cream formula using Humblebee's tips. I reduced the amount of ewax and increased the cetearyl alcohol, and added some polyquat-7. Not sure if the polyquat-7 did anything, but reducing the ewax totally fixed the "soapiness" i used to get with my cream. Plus...
