Customers do like free shipping but unfortunately I'm not big enough to offer free shipping or I'd never make any profit. All my money would go to shipping.
I bought Flatware dishwasher racks from a restaurant supply store. They hold about 40 bars of soap and have holes all the way around to allow for air flow.
It won't burn off their skin it just doesn't last as long or perform as well before it's fully cured. It will be soft and kind of slimy and the lather and bubbles will be subpar. The cure part of soap is the water in your recipe evaporating out of the soap and then the soap itself forming its...
I never was able to sell anything on Etsy. I finally got a square space and marketed on Next Door, facebook, and CL and I made $1000 this year. Sure it's not much but I just got my website up towards the end of October.
All my craft fairs and farmer's markets were cancelled this year. I lost all of my deposits although technically I was told they can roll over to 2021 if they have them next year but still I got stuck out of pocket on stalls and vendor fees. Who knew 2020 would not be the year to open a new...
Have you thought about ordering the silicone mold kits and making your own liners? I've seen some people online using them to make their own liners for their customer soap molds.
You can use it as an additive but it's going to seize quickly so you have to mix it to a very light trace and then add the whiskey at the very last minute, stir it in by hand and be prepared to pour it right away because you have about 30 seconds before it turns to cement. lol
It's really a...
Embrace the ugly. Someone out there will love it. I've always got an idea for how I want soap to turn out and then it ends up being nothing like what I envisioned and although I hate it others do love it.
I am so glad 2020 is coming to an end. I'm having a hell of an end to the year.
My first rant is holiday gifts. Ok I mean I'm not materialistic but why do people keep buying me SOAP FOR XMAS! These are people who have actually bought soap from me. They know I make soap. And they didn't even...
I've ordered fragrance oils from them before and never had this happen but I've never ordered such a large amount before. I would definitely contact them about it because it's listed as a fragrance oil and no mention of water being in it at all.
I use different ingredients because I like different properties in my soap. 100% coconut oil soap is too drying for my and my customers' taste. It took me a long time to come up with my preferred soap recipe.
I suspect you're either using too little or you're not using the right micas. I add Kaolin clay and TD to most of my batches and I've never had an issue with coloring my soap in purples or other colors.
I just got mine today and OMG THE MICAS! THEY ARE SO SPARKLY! I've only used Micas from Nurture and I had some samples from WSP but my gooses and garters these Mad Micas are so rich and brilliant. Complete jewel toned beauties! I can't wait to use them!
You don't want to mix that honey with the milk at all, it will burn when you put the lye in. I usually discount my milk by about 2 oz and replace that with 2oz of water and I mix in 1 tablespoon PPO and dissolve the honey in the 2 oz of water. I will pour the dissolved honey into the oils and...
Did the box look new? I've reused boxes I've gotten from shipped items like this because it reuses packaging that I'd other wise toss in the recycle bin. I will use my heat gun to peel off labels and it looks like a new box. I suppose it could be a cheat but it could also be an upcycle.
