    Sean Connery

This reminded me of when I was much younger, and I said in front of my dad, "who would ever want to live to be 100?" My dad said, "someone who is 99!" Now that I am so much older and my dad is gone, I understand completely. Everything is relative!

Semmelweis was indeed mocked, but he was right, and his assertions were based on data. I understand you have the right to listen to whoever you desire, but I do believe it is important to listen to those who have been educated to pursue the truth in these issues and who have gone to the trouble...

    Coronavirus

I am an advanced practice nurse who has been involved in science for over 50 years. I keep up with all the CDC recommendations, even before the pandemic, I have been involved in research, I know how to read research and how to evaluate whether or not a study is valid or verifiable based on...

    Coronavirus

You know, if you posted this on twitter, they would remove it as being disinformation. There is no such thing as "alternate facts" when it comes to science. I agree that we must be respectful to others who hold differing opinions, but opinions are not science, and being respectful has nothing...

Hello! Anyone know anything about olive-baking-soda-and-water soap?

This is the way my grandmother made soap. She had an ash hopper, and she made soap in a big cast iron cauldron on a fire in the yard. Her soap was a little harsh, but they were poor and made do with what they had. It was pretty impressive, however, and I can't imagine doing that and coming out...

Earlene, thanks for the update. You and I are alike in that I would have told the administrator that what she and her staff were doing was illegal, but I think some people are less confrontive than me - LOL. I think my husband would have handled it much as yours did. I hope things work out as...

    Coronavirus

Oh, that is frustrating and a bit scary! Is it warm enough to open the car windows? That might help. I can't imagine why anyone needs to do this in this day and time.

    Sorbitol

I hope it works well for you!

    Sorbitol

I used sugar in all my recipes until I got curious about sorbitol. I have to say that with my recipes, sorbitol seems to bump up the lather much more than sugar. Although sorbitol is more pricey, I make soap only for family and friends, so the price doesn't bother me. I order big bags of it...

Well, I would be furious as well! I think it is a felony to deny someone the right to vote. Sounds like voter suppression. Keep us posted, please. After all, if there was a test to determine if you could vote due to mental capacity, lots of people would flunk it.

YIKES! You would think that people would have some milk of human kindness during these times, especially since you work at the hospital. I hope you get it cleared up quickly. In the meantime, do something fun!

    Triple rice soap

I haven't made this yet, but I certainly plan on doing my next batch as a triple rice soap. I read through, but did not see how much rice powder you add to a batch. How much did you use, Misschief? And how much rice did you puree into your rice water? Apologies if I missed them somehow! Thanks!

I have successfully found good dentists almost everywhere I have ever lived. If you know someone who is married to a dentist, ask them who they see for dental work. The people who are married to dentists always have the best dentists! I hope your troubles get better, Kim.

    Post your Gripe

I have 8 root canals and 12 crowns and 2 permanent bridges, so you have my complete sympathy. I also had to have my teeth capped with silver when I was a kid, wore braces for over 5 years. I have always had bad teeth, but I am determined to keep my teeth! As a nurse and an old lady, I have...

Getting ready to cut back my Plumeria

Didn't think you forgot, just thought you had a life - LOL. Yes, let her do her thing and keep her healthy. We'll wait.

I certainly hope you are right, and I hope the wind and weather gives everyone a break. Enjoy your vacation and stay safe. I appreciate the information very much.
