What soapy thing have you done today?

I unmolded my Buttermilk Castille soaps today. Proud of myself for leaving them in the mold long enough--usually I'm too impatient. Scented lavender & peppermint EO. Bermuda Triangle mica from Mad Micas. First time using milk in a soap!

    New to Soapmaking… Crumbly Soap

I have a soaping book that says soap like this is a result of too much lye. Now, I'm a soaping newbie too, so I can't say if that is truly the case. If your first few batches were fine, is there something that has changed? Like is your scale working ok? I hope other experienced soapers...

    My Second Soap

This is my second CP soap I've done. It has olive oil, coconut oil, and palm oil. No scent. I used activated charcoal and some gold glitter from Brambleberry. Question, the gold glitter I poured on top, I mixed it with 1 tbsp of olive oil. As you can see it made rivulets. What should I...

Anyone else finding buying on Amazon frustrating these days? - Halloween

My last run-in with Amazon was with an ice cream maker that never got sent and this was in May. At least they credited my account. Been a bit leery since. I was going to suggest Oriental Trading company too, very fun to look at! Good luck, Halloween is my favorite holiday!

Help me out with a name?

I was wondering how a Kiwi would come up with Lake Erie. My experience of the lake comes from the PA side. During the winter it brings us "lake effect snow" and can shower us with literal feet of snow!

    Hello I'm Imactuallymute

Hello and welcome! I too am cost conscious when it comes to soap making. I try to look for recipes with as few oils as possible, and preferably ones that I can buy locally. I like to game as well. I have an old (1989?) Nintendo. Nothing beats the graphics and fine details of today's...

    Ceramics Painting

Here's a turkey I did for our local fair competition. And a dragon; it's quite dusty

    Ceramics Painting

Wow, that's beautiful! Very well done. My mom and I paint ceramics. We use molds to cast slip in, take them out after a while and fire them. Then we paint them. It's pretty cool, and very labor intensive. Some of the molds are impossibly heavy.

Can you use 100% whole milk for the oil?

I am very new to CP soap. Because I'm so new, I've never attempted a milk soap, I feel I need a lot more experience with regular CP before I begin the milk soap journey. That being said, I have certainly read about milk soaps. They are just so lovely. In my research I have learned that lye...

    Brambleberry

In the past BB shipping was around a two week wait time for me, being on the opposite coast. However, this year I bought from them and they had that shipped to me in no time. I did the whole "buy now to have it before Christmas" thing though. So I don't know if that was a factor. I love...

    Game ┉ Would You Rather?

I'll go with apple pie, only because I've never had strawberry pie! I'm just now starting to like cooked fruit. It took me a long time LOL! Would you rather eat Barbecue flavored potato chips or Salt 'n' Vinegar flavored potato chips?
