Best mixer for whipped body butter

Thanks. I was wondering if the beaters were stronger than the whisk for that purpose. I guess the milkshake tool is the one with the circular piece on it that is not the whisk or the beaters then? I'm not up on milkshake items I guess!

Best mixer for whipped body butter

Thanks. I'm guessing the milkshake attachment is the whisk?

Best mixer for whipped body butter

Thanks for the recommendation. I see that the mixer has the beaters as well as a whisk - which one would you use, the beaters??

    Lard Recipe

I'm so glad to see you're back online and hope things aren't too bad down there. I have friends in Mint Hill, but I don't think they were hit too hard.

Best mixer for whipped body butter

I've got some good recipes for a whipped body butter but have been using my old double beater portable hand mixer for whipping. I'm now wondering if there's a better implement out there that's hand held. Maybe the hand mixer is the best, but before I go buying something new I thought I'd ask...

    Marseille soap

I miss Zany as well. She was so nice and so helpful, I thought one of the most helpful people on the forum.

    Lard Recipe

Thanks. I let my Aleppo soap cure for at least 6 months and a year is better, but most other soaps I make are cured for about 8 weeks before I sell them. I haven't made salt bars but it's helpful information in case I do try.

    Why Wax

I think that if you are a beginning soap maker, I would not recommend using beeswax at all if you are doing cold process, until you are more experienced in soap making. I think using beeswax can be a bit tricky because it starts to solidify quickly as the temperature of the oils is reduced, so...

    Lard Recipe

Question about cure times - do you mean that bars made with lard or tallow need a longer cure time, or that all soap needs a longer cure time?

    Tallow Body Butter

Thanks. I am back on track now.

    Tallow Body Butter

    Thanks. I'll give 2% salt a try.

    Tallow Body Butter

I also always use aloe vera juice and add sorbitol, but I have never added salt at the same time. What benefit does the salt provide? I have read a lot on the forum about salt bars, and have been cueious, but haven't made any. I think salt bars are much higher in salt than 2% though?

    Tallow Body Butter

I'm looking forward to trying it after it cures. I didn't use any lard, but I keep hearing about that too.

    Tallow Body Butter

Good to know. Thanks. I also made some tallow soap, as a request from the same person who wanted the body butter, and I'm interested in trying that out when it's cured. It's a very pretty color.

    Tallow Body Butter

We never used to have mosquitos in Southern California, but for the last several years we have had some. I like to sit outside on my deck in the early evening and read and wondered whether I should use the tallow body butter or not, but I think I'll give it a try. Thanks. Interesting about...

    Tallow Body Butter

I know you all are going to laugh at this, and it's perfectly ok with me, as long as I learn something! I have read all the accolades about using tallow for various products and, since I live in California, I never thought I would get a request, because most people here don't want a tallow...

    Tussah silk

Thanks for the link. I've been considering adding it for a long time but I guess there was some controversy about whether they have to kill the silk worm to get the silk, or whether the silk worm has already hatched and left.

Thank you for the link. I make a charcoal facial cleanser that is very mild but am always on the lookout for additional information.
