    Failed Again *Sigh*

On that one I would try 14 ounces of coconut, 29 ounces of palm and 29 ounces of olive oil. Won't be quite as brittle a soap when HP it. And maybe lower the goat's milk to 1/3 of the liquid and see how all that turns out. (Maybe just 3 to 4 ounces of goat's milk and the rest water.)

    Failed Again *Sigh*

This......stay away from the milk for now and just use water IMHO. For you starting out a simple recipe would be 20 percent coconut oil, 40 percent palm oil and 40 percent olive oil. Or 20 ounces of coconut, 40 ounces of olive oil and 40 ounces of palm oil. (Whatever amount of coconut you use...

    Replacing water with vinegar

A bit off topic...... Will an equal amount of vinegar add the same basic benefits to the soap as an equal amount of sodium lactate would (e.g., hardening up the soap more quickly for unmolding purposes)?

    GW 415 - Soy Wax

For people who might try to use soy wax and are switching from tallow, lard or palm what difference should they expect relative to the bolded part above in your post? How would you compensate for those differences, or are the differences not "bad" differences in your opinion?

Another Wine Soap Thread - HP

The aluminum is only on the bottom sandwiched between two layers of stainless steel. It is fine for soaping, been using it for many, many years.

Another Wine Soap Thread - HP

I have made 100 percent wine as the liquid in soaps for many, many years. I just treat it as water and make the soap exactly the same. I do use the double boiler HP method so that does eliminate any over thickening when pouring the wine liquid into the melted oils. Same for beer soap. ETA...

    GW 415 - Soy Wax

Thanks Mobjack Bay. I noticed in the Soapee Lye Calculator their Beef Tallow has a KOH sap value of 0.20 and a NaOH of 0.143 which is pretty close to your numbers. Just thought I would pass that on to you and others.

    Soapers Choice

I was able to get through by a link to the site via another post in this forum about Webstaurant Oils. Soapers Choice security certificate expired on 2/1/20 and my Windows 10 PC will not let me go there directly.

    Soapers Choice

I cannot go to the Soapers Choice because its certificate is invalid.....my computer won't allow me to go to the site where I buy all my oils...…..is anyone else having this problem?

I lost my glycerin liquid soap recipe.

Because I am an ***** and lost my recipe I need to know if I can use the Soapee calculator and use those ratios? I make it with 100 percent glycerin and water is only used after trace to dilute into the final liquid soap. Any info or a link would be GREATLY appreciated.

I have always mixed my lye out in the garage.

    Soy Wax Users

Kiwi: If you don't mind, please repeat what calculator you use for the soy wax you use. (IIRC, you use 415 soy wax?) I went back to see if you do use 20 percent soy wax in your recipes as I remembered it to make sure. Do you use the Soapbee calculator and the "fully hydrogenated soybean oil"...

    Soy Wax Users

Thanks! I can get HO Canola at Gordon Food Service stores for pretty cheap in large quantities. I have used RBO over the years and it is good also but I didn't notice too much of a difference between the two. I wish Soapers Choice sold soy wax. Will do because the season is over for me with...
