    EOCalc.com Blend Reviews

I posted about Star Anise usage rate a long time ago because i bought some of it from WSP and their usage rate was .1% and I double checked with them and they said it was not a typo. I never bothered using it because i could not find a definitive usage rate. This In The Dark blend sounds amazing...

    Unintended Irony

Check out one of lovinsoapstudio's latest Instagram posts. The soap on the right looks like a beautiful ribeye steak.

    Average life of a bar

Obviously this has been discussed before but it’s tough to search for such a broad subject. Since I am a hobbyist and don’t sell, I really haven’t been too concerned with longevity but out of curiosity I was wondering what people think is an average life span of a bar. The last bar I gave my...

    What's that whatchyamacallit?

Lol. I am just joking. My wife and daughters love my soaps and we all use them but my financial saving skills have always been a bit of an issue in the relationship. I have done pretty good angle pours with books laying around this house so dropping a 50 spot on the Cheshire Cat might not be the...

    What's that whatchyamacallit?

If I buy any more soap related molds and/or equipment I run the risk of being served divorce papers. That is pretty sweet though.

    Adding Shea butter

I did a 70% Shea recipe back in Frebruary and tested a bar at 2 months and then again at 4 months and I felt there was a noticeable difference. Definitely more lather in the bar I let cure longer. In my opinion it is a very different feeling between the high shea and my regular recipes. A much...

    Hulk like soap!

Thanks for the kind words everybody. I gotta be honest. This was mostly the result of dumb luck. I can’t do some of the more intricate stuff but love my hangar swirls. You always end up with something cool.

    Hulk like soap!

Thanks. I did an angled wall pour and alternated colors and then finished with a hanger swirl.

    Hulk like soap!

Latest batch. The purple and green together made me think of the Hulk. Micas are King Tut from Mad Micas for that goldish accent and purple is Purple Vibrance from Nurture and Green is Force of Nature from Nurture. FO is Black Pepper Bergamot from New York Scents. FO behaved with no issues.

Sharing soap at work - your thoughts

What is everyone's opinion on sharing cold process soap as hand soap in the workplace? I brought a bar of my soap to work along with a soap dish because I have so much laying around at home. I only share the bathroom with maybe 5-7 other guys at work. It's a cubicle type office atmosphere. I am...

Clove equals Soap on a Stick

Wow. So many interesting stories about using Clove EO. Thanks everyone for sharing. Looked at the soap this morning and let's just say it is one of my more "rustic" soaps. Only 4 bar mold recipe so no harm no foul in terms of wasted materials. Also, just wanted to reiterate the amount of clove...

Clove equals Soap on a Stick

Lol. You beat me to it by about 10 seconds.

Clove equals Soap on a Stick

Those percentages are in the blend itself. That 10% of the blend was 2g of Clove Bud in a recipe of 400g of oils which is .5%. I just cannot believe how quickly it seized up.

Clove equals Soap on a Stick

now you got me thinking because now i can’t find that blend on eo calc anymore. might just throw this batc in the trash.

Clove equals Soap on a Stick

Yowza. Just made a blend from EO Calc named Citrus Spice that has 10% Clove, 10% Patchouli, 20% Litsea and 60% Sweet Orange. Only a recipe for my 4 bar mold. Only used my milk frother for maybe 10 seconds and bam!!! Soap on a Stick. Recipe had Mango, Shea and Cocoa Butter but damn that Clove is...

    single bar cutter

    Save on Scents

I got an instant anxiety attack just looking at their website. I am thinkingh that they really don't need the new customers but they should really hire someone to revamp their website because it looks like something from when people still used AOL and a dial up internet connection.

    Not mine but on reddit

I saw that yesterday also. That is a lot of work to go through for soap but it is really really cool looking.
