    First time using Yogurt powder

I put it in the oils and stick blended for what I thought was quite awhile but I guess not. Now it has little white specks all over the place so I assume I did not mix it in enough. I think if I use it again I will rehydrate it and use some water from lye solution.

    First time using Yogurt powder

Latest batch. First time using yogurt powder. I added 1.5 Tablespoons Yogurt powder to 800g of oils before I added lye solution. CPOP’d and then let it sit in mold for 36 hours or so. Is the yogurt powder the reason it has such a matte/rough feel to it. I am not liking the feel of the soap so...

    Soleseife in a loaf?

Yes. I would definitely check after an hour or so. Tbh I have never made one before but from all the googling I just did everything says it hardens very quickly.

    Soleseife in a loaf?

I don't see why you couldn't make this in a loaf mold. Soleseife is just a salt water solution/brine for the lye solution.

How to figure how much oil for mold.

I do not think your second equation is correct. Once you get the total volume in fluid ounces you should be multiplying that number by 1.8 to get your cubic inches and then multiply by the .4. So it would be. 26.4 x 1.8 = 47.52 cubic inches 47.52 x .4 = 19 oz of oil needed

    Titanium Dioxide alternatives

I use Nurture Soaps TD and you are supposed to disperse it in water. It mixes very easily and I never have issues with mixing but I would still like to try some alternatives and see if I get better results.

    Titanium Dioxide alternatives

Hello everyone. Can someone recommend a TD alternative from Mad Micas and/or Nurture Soaps. Those are my go to places for Micas. Not sure if it’s my recipe or other underlying factors but it seems like every time I use a larger amount of TD my soap is a little chalky/crumbly.

First recipe - will it work?

I just checked the Natures Garden website for both of the fragrances you are thinking of using and both of them say "slight acceleration" and the Bamboo Hemp says "Slight acceleration, stick blend and soap at cooler temps, slight ricing, separated but reabsorbs" These are not the type of...

First recipe - will it work?

You have to start somewhere so I would not get to caught up with the recipe. I will let more experienced people critique the recipe. What I would be more concerned with is that you are attempting a 3 color swirl for your first time making soap. A lot of people will suggest a very simple one...

    Watermelon Lemonade

Latest batch. A variation of the Clyde Slide. Micas are Full Throttle and Material Girl form Nurture Soap and FO is Watermelon Lemonade from New York Scent. Recipe had Mango, Cocoa and Shea Butters. Was softer than I thought it would be after 24hrs. Had to leave it in the mold another day and it...

    Cheap beginner molds-what are yours?

Crafters Choice 1501 silicone mold. I got it on Amazon but you can also buy it from Wholesale Supplies Plus. Makes 2.5lb batch of soap. I cut 8 bars of 3.5 x 2.5 x 1. My recipe for this mold is around 800g of oils/fats. Not the cheapest option out there but they work great and no need for lining...

    Original Recipe Vs. Original Design

Definitely unneeded stress. As far as I know there are no patents or intellectual property issues in soapmaking. Especially in the US. In the UK they need to have recipes assessed so "stealing" someones recipe might be an issue in the UK but here in the U.S. I wouldn't worry about it. No matter...

My Soap is dirty how do I fix this?

God bless you people taking the time to respond to the OP. No offense but if were a mod I would remove this nudnick from the forum. There are genuine people here ready to help and this person is obviously not playing with a full deck. Sorry for being rude but just telling it like it is.

    No-Stir Palm Oil Question

Not trying to hijack this thread but I ordered 2lbs of No Stir Palm from WSP and it came in 2 separate 1lb bottles with a super small opening. I am just a hobbyist so ordering a huge amount is not feasible for me. My issue is why wouldn't they put this in a tub with a wide mouth opening so it...

    Yogurt Powder

Sounds good to me. For the usage rate, would 1 tablespoon PPO be a good place to start? Thanks for your help on this Todd.

    Yogurt Powder

Good morning everyone, I bought some Yogurt powder from WSP a couple of months ago and have not done anything with it yet. I fell into a searching wormhole trying to figure out how to use it and saw so many different answers and a lot of the threads were pretty old. I figured I would start a new...

    Thick Feather Swirl

Latest soap. Happy with the results even though the blues could have been a little thinner and not take up so much space on the bar. Next time I will use less batter for the colored portions and try to only pour down center. Micas are Klein Blue and Baby Blue from Nurture Soaps and FO is Avalon...

    Not sure of the cause

I think I have had the same issue a couple of times. See this post of mine. Soda Ash or something else? This happened again to me recently. Both times it happened it was a batch I made in a 4 bar silicone mold.

    CPOP questions!

I always wonder about covering with plastic wrap. If you are using a standard 8 bar loaf mold and your batter comes close to the rim won't plastic wrap ruin whatever design you made on the top. I know not everyone makes a design on the top but every time I messed around with plastic wrap or...
