    When experimenting with new ingredients...

Even though I only use CO at no more then 15% Im always afraid to take it out as I didnt think that the PKO gave me enough bubbly lather. And I have hard water so when I test it Im never sure I am getting what others are getting when they try it. How is your lather with the PKO? On the RBO from...

Let's play Good News / Bad News

Bad News - I have tinnitus ( hissing noise in my ear ) for the last 4 years. It changes in pitch depending on whats happening in my life. ie - Stress etc. When I try to put it out of my mind and get busy doing things I can deal with it. Wellllllll last night around 11:30 when I was getting...

    When experimenting with new ingredients...

Exactly! If I tweak an existing awesome recipe then the addition at lets say 10-20% now depleats some other ingredient that may make my awesome recipe different and which one of those awesome recipe ingredients that made it awesome, do I get rid of at 10-20%!! LMAO! This is why I asked this...

    When experimenting with new ingredients...

I always run into the same dilema when I am going to use a new ingredient. When I want to see how a new oil performs how is the best way to use it in my recipe? Im not going to use 100% of anything except for castile. So using 100% has never been my thinking. Is that what I should do? Should...

    True or False?

And it is a huge problem with this particular craft. I do a lot of research on my own as I have a very curious mind frankly I am a major "pain in the a**) on many of the facebook soaping groups when I read something that I know is not true. I usually only comment on those type of things. And...

    Coconut Milk Soap Disaster!

Marie - I have always used the split method for milk soap as I find it easier and less problematic. I have never noticed a difference as to the quality. Your soap came out very nice and we have all fallen victim to the FO monster!

    Recipe feedback!

I agree with the changes the others suggested. However, you are the only one that can decide if you like it. It is the way we learn. That recipe will change many many times over your soaping journey. Every time I think I love a formula I create, there is another one later down the road that...

    Badly need advice

I find the program very capable of managing everything for me. I do not however keep tract of my products through the invoice part. Just too much. So based upon SM3 I have a lot of soap! Which of course I do not have. I give away more then I sell. Its not a business really for me - More of my...

amd - Thank you for that. I still contemplating what I should do. I feel like I am betraying my mom as well as she asked me to take care of her baby. ( She loved that dog more then her kids I think lol ) Needless to say it is not an easy decision and Im kind of glad that it isnt as it tells me a...

    Badly need advice

About 6 years ago I got Soapmaker3 and I cannot live without it. For the $99 it is worth it's weight in gold. Keeps my inventory of materials, costs and inventory. Before that I used a notebook and printed recipes, put them in plastic and a 3 ring binder. I back up my data on my computer, a...

She would never go to a shelter. If I cannot find a loving home (if that is the route I go ) then she will obviously be here with me. This is why I am so conflicted. I promised my mom. But when my mom was here she was always with my mom so I didn't have the issues I have with her now. Wherever...

    Post your Gripe

I would NEVER put her in a Shelter. I rescued my AB from one. I don't buy dogs - I rescue and have many times. I clearly understand. Its not an issue of I don't want her. Its an issue of it is the wrong time in my life right now for so much chaos. And she is a lot of work. I have not been...

    Post your Gripe

My mother got her when she was 81 years old. We got her from a different state as she was trained for older people. She was the perfect dog for her. But my mother spoiled her rotten. I had to change her diet as my mom fed her everything. She has a Thunder shirt that I put on her that my mom...

    Post your Gripe

Well - It's not really a gripe, more of a dilema. I come here to ask for advice from people who are not my close friends or family as they are not really giving me advise based on reality, they are pretty much telling me what they think I want to hear. Some of you know as I posted a few...

My first shaving soap is a success!

Hi Slick! Your scale does not have different modes? I have ounces, grams, pounds, kg, etc. I do however have a smaller gram scale for measuring essential oils as my larger scale doesn't recognize such small amounts. If you can, make a small investment as a good capable scale is invaluable in...
